For my fellow humans who have been diagnosed with the big C, this is for you! Wanted to encourage you and me as well because we all need it don’t we?
I recently bought a sweet little ring and upon it written very small is a list of what cancer cannot do. But before I get to that remember this above all:
CANCER IS NOT IN CHARGE, JESUS IS!
Some of us fight against this disease and win and some don’t. I just know that our lives and our cancer is in HIS hands. Why do some never ever see the hand of cancer and some do? I cannot answer that question. I only know where I am in my journey and how CHRIST has been my firm foundation.
2 TIMOTHY 2: 19 “BUT GOD’S FIRM FOUNDATION STANDS, BEARING THIS SEAL: THE LORD KNOWS WHO ARE HIS.”
That alone has been my comfort and my peace, knowing HE knows me and sees me. HE gives me peace when I doubt and question and when I don’t know the future. GOD has been there and is there always…….for me.
So back to this ring I bought. I had to look it up because what is written on it is so very tiny. But it says this and I pray it will encourage you and strengthen you……..you there who are fighting your own fight against cancer remember this:
WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO:
- IT CANNOT INVADE THE SOUL
- IT CANNOT SUPPRESS MEMORIES
- IT CANNOT KILL FRIENDSHIPS
- IT CANNOT DESTROY PEACE
- IT CANNOT CONQUER THE SPIRIT
- IT CANNOT SHATTER HOPE
- IT CANNOT CRIPPLE LOVE
- IT CANNOT CORRODE FAITH
- IT CANNOT STEAL ETERNAL LIFE
- IT CANNOT SILENCE COURAGE
So when you feel weak and doubtful about your fight against this awful disease remember these points listed above. We are not defined by cancer, no we are defined by our LORD, JESUS CHRIST.
HE alone gives us: the seat of our soul, the wonderful memories and blessings we have, and the beautiful friendships we make. HE alone is our daily peace, while HE alone gives us a spirit of hope and love. No, cancer cannot take away your faith, or your eternity and it cannot silence your courage.
Today I encourage you to put cancer in it’s rightful place. Because it isn’t in control or in charge, GOD is. Fill your mind and soul with HIS words to you and find your peace within. Only GOD does that, not cancer.
My fight is not over with cancer, but my GOD fights right alongside me. So put on the full armor of GOD today…….HE alone will give you the strength to fight. Nowhere in GOD’S word does it say or command you to…..give up!
2 SAMUEL 22: 33 “IT IS GOD WHO ARMS ME WITH STRENGTH AND KEEPS MY WAY SECURE.”
CHRIST alone is our strength in this battle. With each exam and test, HE is alongside you, sitting there with you, holding you secure. Don’t let cancer steal that peace and comfort from you…….ever! Remember to persevere my friend and in doing so, GOD is right there to help you.
ROMANS 5: 3-4 “NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WE REJOICE IN OUR SUFFERINGS, KNOWING THAT SUFFERING PRODUCES ENDURANCE, AND ENDURANCE PRODUCES CHARACTER, AND CHARACTER PRODUCES HOPE…….”
