DO MORE BY DOING LESS

LESS IS MORE

With the New Year in full swing now are you attempting to eat better, rest more and get a good nights sleep?  We are to treat our bodies as temples and GOD designed them to be cared for and not abused.  And isn’t it interesting what a good nights rest will do for the next day?

1 PETER 5:  7  “CAST ALL YOUR ANXIETY ON HIM BECAUSE HE CARES FOR YOU.”

Don’t you think we all could do more if we worried less?  And I know we could accomplish more if we spent less time on our social media feeds.  Is there one you could delete this year?  Many years ago I got rid of my Facebook and haven’t missed it one bit.  Best thing I ever did.  You can remain in contact with anyone after the fact because you can make sure you have their phone number.  All the rest of your so-called followers really are just acquaintances and some you don’t even know who they are!

I think we can use our devices as tools to live, but not live for them.  And so I am finding that when I cut back on these things, I do more in other areas.  My time is spent wisely either at home, with friends and especially in HIS word and study too.  Study HIS word and learn from it how to live more fully and you will find peace there too.

Last week my phone told me over the course of that week I used my phone 12 hours less!  Picking up my Bible instead of my phone then is choosing the better thing.

CHOOSING GOD IS NEVER A WASTE OF TIME!

Think of it this way:  life is a marathon, and not a sprint.  Rushing everywhere really accomplishes nothing.  It just has us living in a state of chaos and stress. Maybe we would be living more abundantly if we remembered this:

1 JOHN 5:  11   “AND THIS IS THE TESTIMONY:  GOD HAS GIVEN US ETERNAL LIFE, AND THIS LIFE IS IN HIS SON.”

By choosing to do less in this world we will and can find the time to do more in and for CHRIST.  That is where we abundantly live in the fullness of HIS grace, mercy and love.

JOHN 10:  10   “I CAME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE AND HAVE IT ABUNDANTLY.”

The enemy steals our time by distracting us with what the world loves.  Satan knows just what steals our attention away from GOD.  Don’t let him!

JOHN 10:  10   “THE THIEF COMES ONLY TO STEAL AND KILL AND DESTROY.”

Don’t let him waste your time, fight for your time with GOD!  Time spent for the GOSPEL is best and you can change your schedule too.  Make time, get up earlier. Put down the phone.  Live in HIS word.  Our lives and how we live are precious to GOD.  HE wants us to spend time with HIM.  And the more time spent, the more we live abundantly.

How will you choose to spend your time this week?

MATTHEW 6:  25  “THEREFORE I TELL YOU, DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT YOU WILL EAT OR WHAT YOU WILL DRINK, NOR ABOUT YOUR BODY, WHAT YOU WILL PUT ON.  IS NOT LIFE MORE THAN FOOD, AND THE BODY MORE THAN CLOTHING?”

  1. So true that Satan likes to steal our time by distracting us and also so agree about putting the phone down and being intentional about spending time in the Word and with God. Thank you for this necessary word.
