JESUS is coming soon……..do you see HIM there? Born to Mary and Joseph, and born in a Manger with animals and then visitors with gifts. The night was bright and the Bethlehem star even brighter. The Magi came to see with their own eyes the anointed ONE. And they asked:
MATTHEW 2: 2 “WHERE IS THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN BORN KING OF THE JEWS? WE SAW HIS STAR IN THE EAST AND HAVE COME TO WORSHIP HIM.”
Let us worship HIM as well. Oh we try to fit JESUS into a box putting human labels upon HIM, but HE was HOLY and anointed by HIS FATHER as the SAVIOR and MESSIAH for all who will believe in HIM. I think it interesting that HEROD called the Magi and asked them to go to Bethlehem and then “go and search carefully for the CHILD.” Herod had other intentions for sure and so did GOD warning the Magi in a dream not to return to Herod and go home to their country by another route.
GO AND SEARCH………CAREFULLY
May we search too, search with all our hearts and minds being intentional to see this CHRISTMAS differently.
LUKE 4: 18 “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME BECAUSE HE HAS ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED, TO PROCLAIM LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND.”
At one point we were blind too before we could see…….but let’s continue with the seeing……..JESUS! JESUS comes to us as the Anointed ONE, Priest and King, set apart by GOD HIMSELF. HE is the light and good news for all the world, born for us all, a true gift of salvation.
JESUS WAS SET APART, ANOINTED AND STILL HE LIVED AMONG US!
CHRISTMAS is fulfillment of old testament prophecies and JESUS’ birth is evidence of HIS being the anointed one. CHRIST actually means “anointed one”.
ACTS 3: 20 “THEN TIMES OF REFRESHMENT WILL COME FROM THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD, AND HE WILL AGAIN SEND YOU JESUS, YOUR APPOINTED MESSIAH.”
This Christmas…….who do you say JESUS is? The HOLY KING has come for us! Rejoice and be glad! JESUS is Messiah, the Anointed ONE, the Prince of Peace. See HIM there in the manger……..IMMANUEL, GOD with us!!
