Let’s get inside our heads for a moment: NEVER THINK THAT GOD IS THROUGH WITH YOU! Oh we give plenty of excuses like, I’ve gone too far, sinned too much. Or how about the I’ve tried all of that before.
JOEL 2: 12-13 “YET EVEN NOW, DECLARES THE LORD, RETURN TO ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART WITH FASTING, WITH WEEPING, AND WITH MOURNING AND REND YOUR HEARTS AND NOT YOUR GARMENTS. RETURN TO THE LORD YOUR GOD, FOR HE IS GRACIOUS AND MERCIFUL, SLOW TO ANGER, AND ABOUNDING IN STEADFAST LOVE……..”
In the above scripture GOD repeats a word twice and it is that beautiful word of redemption: return. Right now at this very moment stop telling yourself that our gracious GOD is fed up and through with you. Instead, inform yourself of HIS consistent and gracious call to return. And we might return more than once only because we stray more than once due to the world’s distractions that never satisfy. But when we return and then stay we realize HIS love for us was there all along because HIS character never changes and HIS grace and mercy for us is immeasurable.
PSALM 84: 11 “…….FOR THE LORD GIVES GRACE AND GLORY; HE WITHHOLDS NO GOOD THING FROM THOSE WHO WALK WITH INTEGRITY.”
God will and can restore what we have lost or done, where we have sinned and then HE gives even greater grace.
JOHN 1: 16 “FOR FROM HIS FULLNESS WE HAVE ALL RECEIVED, GRACE UPON GRACE.”
GOD is never done with us……..hold onto this with all your might. HE is not finished with your story and if you woke up this morning, that is proof right there! No, HE is not done with us and HE knows the current state of our hearts…….
PSALM 51: 17 “…….A BROKEN AND CONTRITE HEART, O GOD, YOU WILL NOT DESPISE.”
Isn’t it a wonderful and lovely thought that our GOD asks us to return and when we do HE embraces us with love and forgiveness? What an amazing gift that is and what a way to go to our knees and thank HIM and worship HIM with all our hearts. Since the beginning of time, man has sinned and since the beginning of time our GOD has never changed and HE has said over and over: return to ME! Don’t hesitate doing this because HE is never done with you or done with me, no, HE is just getting started!
NEIHEMIAH 1: 9 “BUT IF YOU RETURN TO ME AND OBEY MY COMMANDS AND LIVE BY THEM, THEN EVEN IF YOU ARE EXILED TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH, I WILL BRING YOU BACK TO THE PLACE I HAVE CHOSEN FOR MY NAME TO BE HONORED.”
HEAVENSREEF 
God is not a man that He is ever disappointed or surprised or finished with His beloved children. His ways are higher, and we cannot fathom the love He shares with us, that woos us and embraces us.
All we can do is read His Word and believe Him.
Lord, help Thou mine unbelief!

Beautiful truth here. God never turns His back on us. He keeps calling us to return, no matter how many times we fall. His grace really is greater than our shame.
How many people have drifted from God because they believed the lie that He was done with them? I’ve fallen for that lie too many times. But God isn’t keeping score. His mercy has no limit and Jesus already paid for our yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Thank you for this reminder to come back, to trust His grace, and to believe that He is never finished with our story.
