There are things we often put in the it doesn’t matter category……..but they do! I wonder when we get to Heaven will we be surprised by all the people and things we dismissed in this life only to learn how important all of it was! There might have been situations and people we just brushed aside only to learn how significant these were to our GOD.
How do we know then, that all matters? Well, GOD tells us to be thankful in “all things.” HE doesn’t say be thankful in “some things” so in all means all!
1 THESSALONIANS 5: 18 “GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING, FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD TOWARD YOU IN CHRIST JESUS.”
Our giving thanks to our Creator for all that is and was and is to come then, means…….all matters. And because GOD loves and is love, all details belong to HIM, so we love too what matters to HIM. Everything matters!
1 JOHN 4: 16 “SO WE HAVE COME TO KNOW AND TO BELIEVE THE LOVE THAT GOD HAS FOR US. GOD IS LOVE AND WHOEVER ABIDES IN LOVE ABIDES IN GOD AND GOD ABIDES IN HIM.”
What we might discount is important to our loving GOD. LORD forgive us when we don’t see what matters. And think about this: GOD created all matter. So everything does matter! Just a play on words…..lol.
We are the ones who put labels on people and the world instructs us on how to do this. GOD sees us either as HIS children or prodigals or lost or broken. It’s why HIS grace for everything matters. And this should matter to us too.
ACTS 17: 25 ” NEITHER IS HE SERVED BY HUMAN HANDS, AS THOUGH HE NEEDED ANYTHING SINCE HE HIMSELF GIVES EVERYONE LIFE AND BREATH AND ALL THINGS.”
All means all and our GOD has HIS hand in all. Everything matters especially with our fellow humans. So let’s pay attention, be intentional and live to notice and love like JESUS did. HE told people that they matter. The woman at the well is the prime example. She found her identity in JESUS and told everyone about it. She mattered and her LORD mattered to her in a big way.
JOHN 4: 29 “COME, SEE A MAN WHO TOLD ME EVERYTHING I EVER DID.”
Everything, all things, everyone, all people and all hearts…….we all matter. Thank HIM today that we do!
1 CORINTHIANS 6: 3 “HOW MUCH MORE, THEN, MATTERS PERTAINING TO THIS LIFE!”

I’ve made it a regular prayer to ask God to open my eyes to the big things, even when they don’t seem big.
