Sometimes our days seem so ordinary, nothing special going on. Sometimes our days seem like a repeat………we get up, go to work, eat, sleep and then repeat the next day and then the next.
OUR ORDINARY CAN BE FULL OF WONDER
If we refuse to live out our days like they don’t matter, then they can matter in spite of the dailyness of it all. The more I walk with JESUS, the more I see that my days matter. They aren’t something to just get through. No they are days to treasure and remember.
PSALM 90: 12 “TEACH US TO NUMBER OUR DAYS CAREFULLY SO THAT WE MAY DEVELOP WISDOM IN OUR HEARTS.”
The LORD does teach us something in each of our days so that we will treasure them in our hearts, realizing they are a gift.
Sometimes an ordinary day can change due to just one small gesture or circumstance. Let me explain. This morning I was taking my usual walk with my doodle dog, Emma. It was an ordinary time, doing what I do each morning. As we were walking, one of our neighborhood landscapers was coming towards me working in the AZ heat. You know them by the vests they wear and by the carts they drive. Usually they wave to any homeowner. And so I waved, but it was what he did back that just lifted me up out of my ordinary day……..and I will always remember it now in my mind’s eye. He smiled and waved really big, and then he placed his hand over his heart and bowed his head, all perfectly timed as he passed me by. It was a simple gesture that was kind and I pondered it the rest of my day.
OUR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER AND A SIMPLE GESTURE CAN PUT WONDER IN OUR DAY.
GOD stands at the door of our hearts and knocks with a simple message……..look up and remember ME! The negative things of this world will not pull us down if our focus and search for wonder keeps us hopeful and free! GOD’S love for us is consistent on our best days, ordinary days and even on our worst days.
PSALM 119: 27 “MAKE ME UNDERSTAND THE WAY OF YOUR PRECEPTS AND I WILL MEDITATE ON YOUR WONDEROUS WORKS.”
Find wonder in HIS promises for you and then you will find joy like none other. HIS works alone should instill in us a posture of wonder and joy.
WE ARE ORDINARY PEOPLE WHO HAVE AN EXTRAORDINARY GOD!
So find that extra in your ordinary today and embrace it. Because your extraordinary GOD loves you with an ever-abiding love that never goes away or runs out.
Blessings today dear reader on your Sunday!
2 CORINTHIANS 4: 7 “BUT WE HAVE THIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN CONTAINERS, SO THAT THE EXTRAORDINARY GREATNESS OF THE POWER WILL BE OF GOD AND NOT FROM OURSELVES.”
Great post. Blessings to you.

If we keep alert, and watch for Him, God always reveals Himself.
In times of stress or conflict, I often go for a walk or bike ride. Most times I will find a blessing God gives me: a flower in a field of weeds, a cardinal, a beautiful cloud formation. One time I was crying as I walked through a neighborhood. I looked up, and there was a little girl, sitting in a bay window, smiling and waving at me. I smiled and waved back, and the rest of my walk was filled with amazement at my loving God.

Isn’t it just like GOD to perfectly time a sweet gesture or flower or even a word to fill us with awe!
