TRADE DRAMA FOR HIS PEACE

SIT IN HIS PEACE

Here is my once and a while sermon on social media.  In reality I am not a fan.  A few years ago I deleted my Facebook page and have never looked back.  The drama there and the evil there became something I didn’t want my eyes to see.  And I was stalked there too.  It was awful.   I was looking for peace in a place that didn’t have it………

JOHN 14:  27   “PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU; MY PEACE I GIVE YOU.  I DO NOT GIVE TO YOU AS THE WORLD GIVES.  DO NOT LET YOU HEARTS BE TROUBLED AND DO NOT BE AFRAID.”

Trade the drama on social media platforms for peace……..HIS PEACE.  Social media should be “social” but it’s not.  It has become a drama fest with comments made to one another to injure and tear down.  How many of our children have committed suicide because someone said something?

If you are on more than one platform I encourage you to delete at least one.  This is very possible and like I said the time that it sucks out of your life you can never get back.  Time spent sitting in HIS peace is eternal, healing and settles your soul.

2 THESSALONIANS 3: 16   “NOW MAY THE LORD OF PEACE HIMSELF GIVE YOU PEACE AT ALL TIMES AND IN EVERY WAY.”

In……..every……..way – only JESUS, the Prince of Peace gives true peace.  Does social media do this for us?  Only if it is used in the right and truthful way.  It is becoming harder and harder to find anything good there.

Do you pick up your Bible first thing in the a.m. or your phone?  Leave the phone in another room in the a.m. and head straight to HIS word.  You might find all that is heavy upon you will become lighter.

EPHESIANS 2:  17   “HE CAME AND PREACHED PEACE TO YOU WHO WERE FAR AWAY AND PEACE TO THOSE WHO WERE NEAR.”

This is the power of the GOSPEL, the good news for us.  Don’t let the power of these social platforms ruin your life.  Spend your valuable time elsewhere today……..turn off, deactivate or delete apps that don’t apply and turn off the Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok.  You will find the peace you are looking for when you sit faithfully in HIS presence.

COLOSSIANS 3: 15   “LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST RULE IN YOUR HEARTS, SINCE AS MEMBERS OF ONE BODY YOU WERE CALLED TO PEACE.  AND BE THANKFUL.”

  1. Mm hmm. I’m not much of a social media gal. Yes, I’m on Facebook. But it’s very limited, and I enjoy catching up with my friends. I’m of the mindset that it’s a tool, and something we must control. If it starts controlling, time to delete. I understand that some folks don’t have that filter, and some folks just can’t stand the content – social media is not for everyone.

    #1 priority is ALWAYS God.

  2. I so agree Maxine. I have social media and got it mainly to connect with friends but find myself having to be very intentional with how I spend time on it. It can truly suck you in and make you waste a lot of time.

  3. Amen, Sister Maxine … His peace truly surpasses anything this world, or any platform, can offer. Thank you for boldly sharing truth and pointing us back to the One who calms every storm. You are a light in a noisy world.
