Instead of questioning GOD’S goodness, we should run to it.  We always seem to question GOD asking why these days, why wars, why sickness, why evil, why, why, why?  Why do bad people hurt good people?  Why do cheaters win?  But when we ask “why LORD”, we are saying we question HIS goodness and promises, all of HIS wisdom and steadfast love.

PSALM 119:  68   “YOU ARE GOOD, AND WHAT YOU DO IS GOOD; TEACH ME YOUR DECREES.”

When we search down deep, we really do know that GOD is good………all the time.  And why do we know this?  Because the hand of GOD placed this knowing into our souls.  Maybe our questioning has more to do with the current condition of our hearts than whether GOD is a good GOD or not.

MATTHEW 19: 17   “AND HE SAID TO HIM, WHY DO YOU ASK ME ABOUT WHAT IS GOOD?  THERE IS ONLY ONE WHO IS GOOD.  IF YOU WOULD ENTER LIFE, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.”

Maybe we should start at the beginning of creation when GOD said “let there be light.” 

GENESIS 1: 16 – 18   “GOD MADE TWO GREAT LIGHTS – THE GREATER LIGHT TO GOVERN THE DAY AND THE LESSER LIGHT TO GOVERN THE NIGHT.  HE ALSO MADE THE STARS.  GOD SET THEM IN THE VAULT OF THE SKY TO GIVE LIGHT ON THE EARTH, TO GOVERN THE DAY AND THE NIGHT, AND TO SEPERATE LIGHT FROM DARKNESS.  AND GOD SAW THAT IT WAS GOOD.”

GOD designed a good world and gave man and woman a good foothold in it.  But it was evil and deception that stepped in and all that we see now in our world is a result of it.  All that is not good comes from man and his sin.

We should take a hard look in the mirror and realize that there is no good found there.  Goodness is only found in the ONE true SHEPHERD that GOD sent to take away the sins of the world.

RUN TO JESUS AND HIS GOODNESS TODAY

Sit at HIS feet and let HIM have HIS way with you.  Let GOD’S goodness teach you how to live each day.

PSALM 143:  10   “TEACH ME TO DO YOUR WILL, FOR YOU ARE MY GOD; MAY YOUR GOOD SPIRIT LEAD ME ON LEVEL GROUND.”

Goodness springs from a good heart that is centered on a good GOD!  Because all goodness and mercy comes from HIM alone.

MARK 10:  18   “NO ONE IS GOOD – EXCEPT GOD ALONE.”

Because of GOD’S word and promises to us, we are without excuse to not see what a great and good GOD HE is.  This goes against the grain of what the world tells us, but we must remain vertical in our thinking and not horizontal.  

Today, embrace HIS goodness, run to it!  Know that there is no good deed you can do to save yourself……..only our good FATHER in Heaven can accomplish this because of HIS gracious SON who died on the Cross for the sins of man.  What a good and holy GOD HE is!

AMOS 5:  14   “SEEK GOOD, NOT EVIL, THAT YOU MAY LIVE. THEN THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY WILL BE WITH YOU………”
