FAITHFUL AND NOT FRETFUL

LET’S BE FAITHFUL EVERY DAY

I find that the closer I walk with GOD, the less fretful I am and the less I worry.  So many people in this world are living with much worry and strife.  We decide what to be faithful to.  How faithful right now are we to our GOD?  How faithful is HE to us?

DEUTERONOMY 7: 9  “KNOW THEREFORE THAT THE LORD YOUR GOD IS GOD; HE IS THE FAITHFUL GOD, KEEPING HIS COVENANT OF LOVE TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS OF THOSE WHO LOVE HIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS.”

Is GOD your priority or is something or someone else?  We can get very distracted with daily worries and obligations.  But where is our faithful love?

WE EXPERIENCE GOD’S FAITHFUL LOVE FOR US EVERY SINGLE DAY.

HE wakes us and provides for us, in all things.  And what do we do?  We usually are so busy we put HIM last on our list.  WE think this:  I will pray later when we should pray now.  Or, I will go to Church next Sunday and Sunday never comes.

We can learn to be faithful to GOD by learning to be faithful with the small things.  Start out small with time with the LORD but be faithful with that time.  It’s a choice to do this, but it also is an eternal choice.  Ask the LORD to help you remain faithful and then watch how HE guides you and draws you in!  GOD will never turn away anyone who comes to HIM.  We are justified by faith, so let’s put that faith into practice and be consistent with our daily time with HIM.

When we are faithful to HIM, we will be less fretful.  GOD comes close when we draw close.  And that closeness always creates peace, not stress and worry.

MATTHEW 6: 27   “AND WHICH OF YOU BY BEING ANXIOUS CAN ADD A SINGLE HOUR TO HIS SPAN OF LIFE?”

Worrying or being fretful really gets us nowhere.  When we put all our energy into the problem instead of fixing our eyes on the PROBLEM SOLVER then we are being faithful to things of this world.  Let’s be faithful to our GOD first.

MATTHEW 6: 25   “THEREFORE I TELL YOU, DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT YOU WILL EAT OR WHAT YOU WILL DRINK, NOR ABOUT YOUR BODY, WHAT YOU WILL PUT ON.  IS NOT LIFE MORE THAN FOOD, AND THE BODY MORE THAN CLOTHING.”

Oh how our world worries and frets over these exact things.  As Christians we don’t worry about these things because we believe that GOD is always in control and that HE provides what we need right when we need it.  When we have this mindset then we can be faithful with the things that are close to HIS heart.

BE FAITHFUL WITH THE SMALL

We tend to put our focus on the big stuff, but GOD sees the small, even the smallest of details.  HE knows every hair on our heads so why shouldn’t HE care about the smallest things we do that no one ever sees.

LUKE 12: 7   “INDEED, THE VERY HAIRS OF YOUR HEAD ARE ALL NUMBERED.  DON’T BE AFRAID; YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN MANY SPARROWS.”

Walk close today alongside your faithful GOD.  HE is always there, always listening, always waiting for us.  HE is very faithful to us so let us learn to be faithful in return, whatever that may be.  Remind yourself today of the faithful GOD who loves you and only requires of you that you have a faithful heart.

DEUTERONOMY 10: 12   “AND NOW, ISRAEL, WHAT DOES THE LORD YOUR GOD REQUIRE OF YOU, BUT TO FEAR THE LORD YOUR GOD, TO WALK IN ALL HIS WAYS, TO LOVE HIM, TO SERVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL.”

  1. I continue to be grateful every morning that, as a new Christian, I was taught to have meaningful morning devotions time with God – to connect with Him. And I’ve always gotten so much out of it, that I’ve continued.

I think it’s much a combination of that time with God’s Word, and the experiences we walk (or trudge or slog) through, that brings us closer and closer to that wonderful peace that He promises. It’s part of our Christian maturity process, I think.

    1. Oh so so glad it spoke to you. GOD always steers me in the direction to write a particular subject. And it’s because HE knows who needs to hear and whose heart will be touched. Bless your heart today!

God is faithful to those who love him and who keep his (New Covenant) commandments, in practice. He is not faithful to everyone who professes him as Lord and Savior but who does not keep his commandments, in practice. We learn in the New Testament that to love God is to obey his commandments, and that if we do not obey his commandments, in practice, that we do not love him, we do not know him, and we do not have eternal life with him. And what does God require of us who profess the name of Jesus? That we fear the Lord and that we walk in his ways, to love him, and to serve him with all our heart and with all of our soul. This is New Testament teaching, too. For if sin is what we practice, and not walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commandments (New Covenant), then we are not in fellowship with him, we do not know him, and we do not have eternal life with him. This is life and death stuff here. And we all need to take this very seriously.

  3. The more we walk closely with God, the less we worry and the more peace we find. Being faithful in the small things really does lead us to greater faithfulness in all things.
