There are so many ways to walk through this life……..the secular life strives for wealth and material things believing that those things will create happiness.  They are always seeking for anything that will satisfy.

WHEN YOU WALK THE PATH WITH JESUS YOUR WALK IS VERY DIFFERENT

Because if you believe in JESUS, your path is different and your walk is different from the rest of the world.  

There is a scene in THE CHOSEN series where Jonathan Roumie who plays JESUS says to one of the disciples this:

GET USED TO DIFFERENT

I have loved that phrase ever since the first time I heard it because to believe in JESUS and to follow HIM on HIS path for you means you just are different.  You are different from who you once were and because of JESUS, because of HIS coming for you, you and your life path has been transformed.  After the Holy Spirit touches your heart and soul you are changed forever and there is no getting around the different.

PHILIPPIANS 3: 15   “ALL OF US, THEN WHO ARE MATURE SHOULD TAKE SUCH A VIEW OF THINGS, AND IF ON SOME POINT YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY, THAT TOO GOD WILL MAKE CLEAR TO YOU.”

So how do we get to this different?  It’s a humble surrender.  It’s a true loving of GOD more than you love yourself.  It’s a priority………every single day.  Walking this way is different from being self-centered.  It’s being other centered.  It’s being vertically centered with all your glory and honor and praises raising up to GOD.  

WALK THIS NEXT YEAR THINKING VERTICALLY AND WATCH WHAT GOD DOES IN YOU AND TROUGH YOU.

Capture each thought for CHRIST.  We don’t have to be perfect at this but we sure can desire this.   Pray in HIS name and love others in HIS name due to HIS never ending love and grace for you.  CHRIST gives us the power and the strength to do all of this because JESUS is different too. 

PHILIPPIANS 2: 7   “INSTEAD HE EMPTIED HIMSELF BY ASSUMING THE FORM OF A SERVANT TAKING ON THE LIKENESS OF HUMANITY.”

What kind of GOD does this?  Only a perfect GOD who is different from all other gods.  We have a great and merciful GOD who has created the universe and who is worshiped by millions on this planet.  

PHILIPPIANS 2: 10   “…….SO THAT AT THE NAME OF JESUS EVERY KNEE WILL BOW IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH AND UNDER THE EARTH.”

There are many things in this world that can slay us: fear, pain, physical hardships and doubts.  But the LORD is here for us to put on HIS full armor to resist all evil with truth and love.  We are different because the armor of GOD is different.  HE gives each of us the following:

• TRUTH to stand on
• RIGHTEOUSNESS
• A GOSPEL of peace
• THE SHIELD of faith
• A HELMET of salvation
• THE SWORD of the Spirit
• MERCY and GRACE

Our GOD comes like a lamb, but is powerful like a lion.  Only a great GOD, a Sovereign GOD can do this……..because HE is different.

So, take heart dear friend.  With HIS powerful HAND upon you, you can be different in this NEW YEAR.  Be different all because HE is different!

1 CORINTHIANS 2: 9   “HOWEVER AS IT IS WRITTEN:  WHAT NO EYE HAS SEEN, WHAT NO EAR HAS HEARD, AND WHAT NO HUMAN MIND HAS CONCEIVED – THE THINGS GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
