Be still and linger a little longer this season. Because this season is filled with HIS hope and HIS light. Don’t deny the dark, look for the light. Don’t deny the chaos, look for CHRIST’S peace. Because HIS peace is there……..born there, in that stable long ago.
LINGER TODAY IN FRONT OF THAT STABLE
The KING was born there……..a tiny KING placed in a manger with straw as a bed and barn animals singing a chorus. And the angels cried: HOLY!
Our HOLY GOD came to us and for us. HIS love came down to us. Even Zechariah’s words of prophecy said this:
LUKE 1: 68 “BLESSED IS THE LORD, THE GOD OF ISRAEL, BECAUSE HE HAS VISITED AND PROVIDED REDEMPTION FOR HIS PEOPLE.”
Linger a little longer today in front of that stable and see what GOD has done……..and be amazed!
LUKE 2: 11 “TODAY IN THE CITY OF DAVID A SAVIOR WAS BORN FOR YOU, WHO IS THE MESSIAH, THE LORD.”
YES! A Savior born for you, not against you. A Savior who saves sinners for all generations and for all of time. A Savior born to be the perfect lamb slain for us, because HE was born for us.
LINGER A LITTLE TODAY IN HIS LIGHT AND GRACE FOR YOU.
Thank goodness the well is deep and HIS arms are big enough to hold you and me and all our troubles and hardships. HE came so we could walk this earth a little lighter, a little more secure. HIS reach is long, because HE longs to be with us.
The baby born in the manger comes again each Christmas and comes every day of the year into our lives. It’s the CREATOR with HIS creation, because we are loved.
LUKE 2: 30 “FOR MY EYES HAVE SEEN YOUR SALVATION. YOU HAVE PREPARED IT IN THE PRESENCE OF ALL PEOPLES – A LIGHT FOR REVELATION TO THE GENTILES AND GLORY TO YOUR PEOPLE ISRAEL.”
Stop and linger today in front of that stable, because when you linger, you will find all you will ever need in that tiny perfect baby: love and light, redemption for your sins and never-ending peace, mercy and grace. And this baby you see will and is the Savior of all the peoples and all the nations……..
LUKE 2: 40 “THE BOY GREW UP AND BECAME STRONG, FILLED WITH WISDOM, AND GOD’S GRACE WAS ON HIM.”
Linger today and bring HIM your heart and praise. JESUS was born for you and me. A perfect MESSIAH, IMMANUEL, GOD WITH US!
ISAIAH 7: 14 “THEREFORE THE LORD HIMSELF WILL GIVE YOU A SIGN. BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE AND BEAR A SON, AND SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL.”

Just as cool as God is, my through-the-Bible study (going on 4 years now) has taken me to Luke 1 today. I love Elisabeth’s & Mary’s praises, and Zechariah’s praise & prophesy. I especially noted that Zechariah said of John, that he would prepare the way of the Lord, “To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins.”
Before we know God, we don’t know that we need salvation, we don’t know the dark of the sin in which we live. But thanks be to God, that He illumines our hearts, minds, souls, and spirits; to give us eyes to see Him, and our desperate need of Him. He created us to need Him, and He designed us to fit perfectly into Him, to fill that need.
Oh, the love of God!

Such a beautiful reminder to pause and reflect on the true meaning of this season. Jesus, the light and peace we all need, born for us, to be with us. Let’s linger in His Love and Grace today.
