When JESUS was born, oh how the angels must have sung a beautiful song of glory!  Can you imagine?  Oh, the gift of song and melody.  Oh, the gift of music for our ears to hear!  If you listen carefully, you will hear that sweet sound of Christmas.  The sounds are all around us this time of year.  You might even find yourself humming along to the joyful tunes.

I was in the dentist’s chair this week……..twice!  First for a cleaning and then for an all in one day crown which is kind of a cool thing that they can do now.  But there is about an hour wait for the crown to be perfectly fitted just for you.  The dentist chair is not my favorite place to be, however, while I was there, I heard the sounds of Christmas.  This office was playing Christmas songs and I found my mood lifting as I listened and even hummed along.

EXODUS 15: 2   “THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SONG…….”

GOD has given us the gift of music.  So many songs we sing in Church move me to tears and give me great joy.  Often they even stick in my mind and I find myself humming them in the oddest places.

Humming has many health benefits……..did you know?  Here is a list I found and it’s good to know that humming can enhance your health and wellness because:

1. Everybody can Hum
2. The humming effect is real
3. Humming is empowering
4. Humming is healing
5. Conscious humming is the key
6. Humming is sacred
7. Humming is fun

The humming effect has been proven to be real.  Humming increases oxygen in our cells, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, reduces levels of stress and releases endorphins.  How wonderful to know this………mmmmmmmmmmmm.

Beautiful song and even humming has effects upon us that are rather remarkable if you think about it.  Humming is healing and we can do this at any time.  Hum along to a tune you love, hum to yourself.  Hum out in public and let people wonder what the reason is for your joy.  This time of year calls for humming due to the joy of the reason for this beautiful season…….

PSALM 40: 3   “HE PUT A NEW SONG IN MY MOUTH, A SONG OF PRAISE TO OUR GOD.”

For this season, let’s hum or sing, but let’s do it all with joy to the LORD for HIS gift of song to us.  OH, come let us adore HIM!   Let us adore JESUS!  Songs and spiritual songs should lift us and keep our minds renewed and focused on the reason for this lovely season.  Lift your hands in worship today and I will too………fa la la la la, la la la la!!
