TIE YOUR HOPE

HOPE IS TIED TO THE ONE WHO LOVES US

I don’t know what you are walking through right now.  Maybe it is a good season or maybe it’s a tough season.  You may be hurting down deep.  Could be a loss of a friend or loved one.  Could be an unanswered prayer you have prayed for a long while.

WHEN WE HURT………WE TEND TO LOSE OUR HOPE

Let us today tie all our hope no matter how small to GOD’S faithful promises.  Because if we hold onto them with all we have, we will never truly be without hope.  HOPE is faith endured.

PSALM 10: 17  “LORD, YOU KNOW THE HOPES OF THE HELPLESS.  SURELY YOU WILL HEAR THEIR CRIES AND COMFORT THEM.”

Today could be a hard diagnosis or the desire to hear from a prodigal child.  Life’s tough moments can put us into a tailspin of despair.  We all go through what we go through and in turn our faith and hope grows through it all too.  Somehow it all gets tied together with a scarlet rope of hope.

GROW WITH THE LORD AND GROW YOUR HOPE

We cannot let despair and the evils of this world pull us away from GOD’S promises for us. They are truth above all the world’s truth and HIS promises will give us the hope we need for today.

PSALM 91: 4   “HE WILL COVER YOU WITH HIS FEATHERS.  HE WILL SHELTER YOU WITH HIS WINGS.  HIS FAITHFUL PROMISES ARE YOUR ARMOR AND PROTECTION.”

Read HIS promises just like the one above when you need them because we need them today more than ever.  The enemy is prowling around just waiting to steal our hope away.  Today let’s tie a red ribbon somewhere to remind us that CHRIST died for us to give us a new hope, a hope for the future, a hope for all of eternity.

This ribbon of hope reminds me of Rehab and her hope that the spies would save all her family……the scarlet rope was her sign of hope that the spies would return.  They told her it was a guarantee and the promise of their return.  But did she really know?  Her hope alone was tied to that scarlet rope!

JOSHUA 2: 21   “AND SHE SENT THEM ON THEIR WAY, LEAVING THE SCARLET ROPE HANGING FROM THE WINDOW.”

I think today we do things like this………put things out as a sign of hope.  We set the table with an extra place setting hoping that special person will show up.  We put a welcome sign on the front door, hoping a neighbor will come along and say hello.  And if we are living our hope out, we put all our hope into GOD’S capable hands, the ONE who made the entire universe and the ONE who made you and me in HIS image.

Today I think I will tie that ribbon around my rearview mirror to remind me………to remind me that when I stand on GOD’S promises for me, HE is my ever-present hope.  HE is the hope of my heart.

ROMANS 15: 13   “I PRAY THAT GOD, THE SOURCE OF HOPE, WILL FILL YOU COMPLETELY WITH JOY AND PEACE BECAUSE YOU TRUST IN HIM.”

Trust HIS ever-present hope.  Pray for your own hope to grow and pray for your fellow Christians that they will never lose hope.  Knowing the Body of Christ prays for each other’s hope…….gives me hope too!  And today may you never lose your hope dear reader………tie it to your faithful GOD, your SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.

1 THESSALONIANS 2: 19   “FOR WHAT IS OUR HOPE OR JOY OR CROWN OF BOASTING BEFORE OUR LORD JESUS AT HIS COMING?  IS IT NOT YOU?”

  1. Isn’t Hope a wonderful thing! God gave it to us, and encourages us often to grab hold of Him because He is our Hope!

Thank you for this encouraging message. I know I can get down sometimes because of unanswered prayer. But, as you say, God’s Hope lifts me up for another day of praying again. And again. And this Hope reminds me that I can give thanks always for whatever is going on because He cares for me and for all I’m praying for; whatever is going on is shaping us more and more into the Image of His Beautiful Son, Jesus Christ.
