SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

Sometimes There Are No Words

Often times I try to put into words here how GOD has touched me.  But I find in my search for words that sometimes there just are no words.  I know in my heart I cannot put GOD into a box to explain HIM.  Oh yes we have human words to use, words on a page in the GOOD BOOK and yet words alone cannot describe all that GOD is.

OUR WORDS ARE LIMITED TO WHAT WE KNOW

And yet, GOD’S word goes beyond all we know and think.  Sometimes HIS word goes way beyond our own understanding of it.  It can be a mystery in and of itself.  It is eternal for sure, pure in every way, convicting and heart changing.

PSALM 119: 160   “THE VERY ESSENCE OF YOUR WORDS IS TRUTH.”

HIS words, not mine, are true and perfect and always right.  GOD has the right words for us when we need them, even when we are at a loss for words.

I still wonder……..will there be even more wonderful words in Heaven?  Will we have an eternal language like nothing here?

So often I come to my page here and I pray  “LORD, I got nothing today.  Will YOU help me?  Will YOU give me the words I need?”  And HE is always faithful that way.  HE gives me a thought and words to put here for you and me.  Oh, how wonderful it is even when there are no words!

When we have no words ourselves, the BIBLE has a scripture that accurately says what we are feeling or struggling with.  I am amazed at this.  So often I just cannot put into words what I want to and sure enough GOD will guide me to what I was trying to say.  And then my heart grasps what is said and I memorize the verse.  I come to the realization that what I found is exactly worded just for me.

PSALM 119: 11   “I HAVE HIDDEN YOUR WORD IN MY HEART, THAT I MIGHT NOT SIN AGAINST YOU.”

May we discover something new in HIS word this week.  Let us search for what we cannot say, because HIS word is so much better than our own.  When we don’t have the words, GOD does!  HE has placed HIS word so perfectly in HIS book for us to see and learn and live out.  How could we go anywhere else to find meaning?

Let’s learn and search this week, memorizing HIS words for us.  Write them down everywhere you can as a reminder that when there are no words, GOD’S WORD speaks in a profound and perfect way.  It’s purity is immeasurable and a guide and a light and truly glorious!

PSALM 119: 105   “YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET AND A LIGHT TO MY PATH.”

Open your Bible today.  Those words you may be searching for to say to someone or even to guide yourself are right there……..held in your sweet hands.  GOD’s word is waiting!

JEREMIAH 15: 16   “WHEN I DISCOVERED YOUR WORDS, I DEVOURED THEM.  THEY ARE MY JOY AND MY HEART’S DELIGHT, FOR I BEAR YOUR NAME, O LORD GOD OF HEAVENS ARMIES.”

  1. You beautifully highlight the truth that God’s word surpasses our human understanding and limitations. Words often fall short in fully capturing the depth of God’s presence and the essence of His truth. As you mentioned, the Bible holds the perfect words for every situation, and even when we can’t find the right words, God’s word speaks directly to our hearts.

My own journey with writing began as a prayer to God, asking for guidance through something I was going through or questioning Him about an experience in my life. I will never forget when He told me, “Willie, grab a pen and paper,” as I sought answers about my past. That moment, six years ago, changed everything for me. Since then, I’ve written two books and am working on four more. Though I don’t consider myself a writer, I give All Glory and Praise to God for the Words He has given me, as they have been a Blessing to both me and others. This is a testament to how truly good, powerful, and uplifting God’s Word is.

    1. Oh Willie, my story is not as extensive as yours. I am amazed that I still can write a post. I woke up this am and said GOD please give me the words and then that still small voice starts in my head. I am like you, just HIS instrument. HE speaks to me the most when I write! I guess that is why I love love it so very much. And I am so thankful for followers like you, just knowing that some how I have made sense here. Ugh, that is why I need GOD so very much………when I don’t have the words!!! YOU are loved Willie!

      1. Amen 🙏 That’s the Truth – No Greater Feeling and No Greater Joy than the feeling of Hearing God Speak to us and Instruct us on His directions.

  2. Wow, this captures well the essence of our struggle to communicate with God (and even each other). I love the idea of a new language in Heaven, something so perfect that we cannot even imagine it, but that will perfectly enable flawless communication. ~ goosebumps thinking of flawless communication with GOD! ~
