SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

THERE IS PURPOSE TO THE PAIN. DON’T WASTE WHAT YOU GO THROUGH.

Yesterday I had a long conversation with a neighbor of a friend of mine.  She was dealing with a hard diagnosis and possibly a hard future.  Sitting in the unknown is difficult to say the least.

Where is the hope in this?  I shared with her how cancer has visited my family twice, but also how GOD had and still is, drawing me so very close to HIM.

SOMETIMES WE NEED TO TAKE A STEP BACK IN ORDER TO MOVE FORWARD AGAIN.

In the stepping back, I am referring to revisiting where we once were and seeing so clearly how GOD got us through our difficulty, remembering HIM and HIS grace for us and then moving forward according to HIS plan for us.

PSALM 38: 7   “AND NOW, O LORD, FOR WHAT DO I WAIT?  MY HOPE IS IN YOU.”

The LORD gave me hope through my journey with cancer and not only mine, but my husband’s too!  My husband for now is ever so cautiously resting in remission!

I see GOD what YOU are doing!  Having me share my story yesterday with a sweet and broken soul made me realize that nothing we go through is an accident or a waste.  Oh how GOD designs our lives to be lived out closer to HIM, walking with HIM and loving HIM for HIS grace shed upon us!  Yesterday, in sharing what I did, I didn’t waste my cancer!  What might have seemed as impossible then when I was diagnosed, has now become a treasure to me.

MATTHEW 12: 35   “THE GOOD PERSON OUT OF HIS GOOD TREASURE BRINGS FORTH GOOD, AND THE EVIL PERSON OUT OF HIS EVIL TREASURE BRINGS FORTH EVIL.”

The LORD JESUS and I went through my cancer battle………together.  The more time went on, the more I trusted.  HE gave me amazing oncologists and a good surgeon.  Because I didn’t know where to turn!  I had never been through any of this before.  I look back on this journey and am joyful about having this hardship because right now, I wouldn’t be where I am without GOD.  HE was my strong tower and my constant companion, because HE never leaves me, never forsakes me.  And HE does the same for you dear reader!

PSALM 38: 21   “DO NOT FORSAKE ME, O LORD!  O MY GOD, BE NOT FAR FROM ME!”

Let’s remember today that nothing we go through hard or even small is a waste to GOD.  It all is for a reason, mostly because we are so very loved and cherished by HIM!

PSALM 71: 18   “NOW ALSO WHEN I AM OLD AND GRAYHEADED, O GOD, DO NOT FORSAKE ME, UNTIL I DECLARE YOUR STRENGTH TO THIS GENERATION, YOUR POWER TO EVERYONE WHO IS TO COME.”

YES! I love how God blesses us in our interactions with each other through Himself. Thank you for sharing your conversation: God blessed both of you! And you blessed us by sharing. ❤

    To God be the glory!

  2. Thank you for sharing your beautiful testimony and encouragement. Your words are such a reminder of God’s unwavering presence in our struggles. As you said, nothing is wasted when we walk with Him, and even in the toughest seasons, He draws us closer to Himself and gives us purpose. Your story of walking through cancer with God is a powerful example of His grace and how He never leaves us, no matter what we face.

As someone who is also following God’s Word and trying to walk the path He’s chosen for me, I can relate to the struggles and moments of wondering, “Why, Lord?” In the waiting and the not knowing, it’s easy to grow weary. But like you said, it’s our faith and trust in His promises that help us push through. We may not always understand the struggle, but it’s in those moments that we grow the most. We are not who we were yesterday, and that growth continues as long as we keep our eyes, ears, hearts, and focus on Him—not on ourselves, our fears, or the world around us.

I love the saying, “Walk the Walk”—it makes so much sense when we’re walking the path God has set before us. Even when it’s hard, we know that His way is the best way. And as we walk, we trust that He is using every step for His purpose, shaping us into who He wants us to be.

Thank you again for sharing your heart. Your testimony and insight are such an encouragement to keep pressing forward in faith.

    You Are Loved.

Blessings to you and yours my Dear Sister.
