SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

HAVE A SOUL HAPPY IN THE LORD!

Most of us would rather be happy than sad, joyful rather than angry.  The world is awful right now, hard, angry and chaotic…….

PSALM 27: 8   “MY HEART SAYS OF YOU, SEEK HIS FACE!  YOUR FACE, LORD, I WILL SEEK.”

The heaviness of sin weighs us down……..let’s repent today and submit to HIS authority, then notice how you stand a little taller, and your soul is a little lighter, happy really and content.

PSALM 86: 4   “GLADDEN THE SOUL OF YOUR SERVANT, FOR TO YOU, O LORD, DO I LIFT UP MY SOUL.”

Lift your soul to the LORD and see how your countenance changes……..there is joy to be found in the LORD!  Some people wake up on the wrong side of the bed so to speak, but spending time with GOD can change that for the better.  Here is a good question we can all ask ourselves………

DOES MY FACE REFLECT HIS FACE?

Sometimes our faces reflect all that we are going through, but GOD wants us to be joyful in the midst of our trials.  Let’s strive to be the type of KINGDOM people that reflect HIS kingdom’s light.  We can leave our troubles at the foot of the CROSS and trust our Savior for HIS provision and HIS grace.  And why?  Because HE loves us with a redeeming love that lasts forever.

On this Sunday, seek to have a soul happy in the LORD.  HE wants that for us because HE delights in us and all we need to do is come before HIM.

PROVERBS 17:  22   “A JOYFUL HEART IS GOOD MEDICINE, BUT A CRUSHED SPIRIT DRIES UP THE BONES.”

PSALM 144: 15   “YES, JOYFUL ARE THOSE WHO LIVE LIKE THIS!  JOYFUL INDEED ARE THOSE WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD.”

  1. Thank you, Maxine. I really needed this. With all the health issues my parents have been dealing with, life has been difficult. I want to remember that God is always in control. And with Him by our side, we can smile and find joy. He is our strength! 🙌♥️

    1. HE is our strength and ROCK!! HE gives us in the difficulty a firm place to stand! Sorry to hear about your parents……….seems like everyone has “something”going on these days. My dad used to say when you have your health, you have everything. He was right because it is one less thing to worry about! Blessings friend!

  2. As I was reading this, I had Bridget’s post in the back of my mind, having just read it. She made mention of storms in our lives, and God’s peace.

I thought about hurricanes, and the eye of a hurricane. Maybe God gives us the hurricane as an example: Jesus is our Eye, the calm as the storms whirl around us.

There’s our peace. We rest in Him as we move through the path of the storms.

      1. Thank you, Bridget. That’s been rolling over and over in my mind, too. I shared it with my husband (we’ve get a few storms raging around us right now), and we’ve been coupling that with Isaiah 26.3, 4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength
