Have you found the time to be alone lately? I ask this because most of us have very busy calendars just filled from the moment we wake up until we go to bed at night. Even our Sundays can be busy when really they should be a day of rest.
I don’t know about you, but even in one day if I don’t find that solitude, that peaceful time of resting in HIS presence, I become irritable and off balance. GOD centers me, HE calms me and HE gives me a renewed attitude and oh so often I do need that attitude correction!
HIS PRESENCE IN THE SOLITUDE IS REAL
Our solitude allows for HIS presence to touch our souls in a deeper way. It is interesting to me that when we are alone with GOD, we really are not alone……..if anything, our souls are most alive in HIS presence.
JESUS is our example of spending time alone with the FATHER. We read about it in all the GOSPELS…….
MARK 1: 35 “VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING, WHILE IT WAS STILL DARK, JESUS GOT UP, LEFT THE HOUSE AND WENT OFF TO A SOLITARY PLACE, WHERE HE PRAYED.”
LUKE 6: 12 “IN THESE DAYS HE WENT OUT TO THE MOUNTAIN TO PRAY, AND ALL NIGHT HE CONTINUED IN PRAYER TO GOD.”
JESUS found a solitary place and we should find time to do this too. When we are alone, we are more present and we create a space within ourselves for GOD to fill. Those spaces are filled with HIS Spirit when we surrender to HIM.
In our times alone in HIS presence we need to just be still and know…….know that HIS spirit meets us, guides us and loves us.
1 TIMOTHY 1: 14 “BY THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO DWELLS WITHIN US, GUARD THE GOOD DEPOSIT ENTRUSTED TO YOU.”
The more we find those solitary times, the more our souls crave them. The Spirit puts that desire within us and I always trust that the Spirit will lead me to the ROCK that is higher than I, every day.
So today friends, if you haven’t found the time to spend alone, ask the Spirit to help you, even if it is five or ten minutes to connect with your inner self and the Holy Spirit. It is the good deposit entrusted to us and when we draw near, GOD will draw near to us. What a free gift of grace! What a wonderful time spent alone with the LORD!
PSALM 86: 10 “FOR YOU ARE GREAT AND PERFORM WONDERFUL DEEDS. YOU ALONE ARE GOD.”

“Our solitude allows for HIS presence to touch our souls in a deeper way.” — YES! Each morning I must spend my time alone with God, and I wait on Him until we connect. I am untethered for the rest of my day until I come away to Him. And I thank Him for it!

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful reflection. I resonate with your thoughts on finding solitude with God. In HIS presence, I find peace and renewal. Carving out moments to be alone with God centers and calms me. Some of my best writings have come from these intimate times with Him.
The solitude we seek allows God’s presence to touch our souls deeply. Jesus often sought solitary places to pray, setting an example for us. In those quiet times, we create space for God to fill us with His Spirit, guiding and loving us.
I encourage everyone to find even a few minutes each day to connect with God. It’s in these moments that we experience His peace and grace in a profound way. Thank you again for your heartfelt message!

Thank you for the reminder about the importance of solitude and spending time in God’s presence. It’s true that amidst our busy lives, moments alone with Him bring peace, renewal, and a realignment of our hearts and attitudes. Jesus Himself sought solitude for prayer, showing us the value of these moments.
May we all find those quiet spaces to connect with God daily, knowing His Spirit fills us and guides us. Psalm 86:10 reminds us of His greatness and the wonderful deeds He performs in our lives.
