HEAVENSREEF

We may often feel alone, but truly we never are.  JESUS looks upon us and even prays for us.  Imagine the time that JESUS spent being alone with HIS Father and praying.  But HE also spent time with the disciples.  Imagine HIM sharing HIS heart and HIS love for them.  The disciples must have been touched by JESUS and HIS words and HIS heart.  Oh what love HE showed them, what a precious gift!  And we have this gift too…….

JOHN 17: 15   “I DO NOT ASK THAT YOU TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WORLD, BUT THAT YOU KEEP THEM FROM THE EVIL ONE.”

Jesus knew that HIS disciples needed protection then and HE knows we need it now.  Isn’t it a wonderful comfort knowing that HE prays in this way for us?  I always tend to read JOHN 17 with that in mind and I always am greatly comforted by JESUS and HIS prayer.

And isn’t it wonderful to know that JESUS understands our plight?  HE gets it………HE gets us when no one else will!  HE understands and has compassion on us living in the evil,  chaotic world we now live in.  HE knows it is difficult to be different from the world.  And that is why HIS spirit dwells among us.  HE knows when we follow HIM we are HIS light in the world, HIS hands and feet…….but none of this we can accomplish on our own.

JOHN 17:  21   “…….THAT THEY MAY ALL BE ONE, JUST AS YOU, FATHER , ARE IN ME, AND I IN YOU, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE IN US, SO THAT THE WORLD MAY BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE SENT ME.”

So………if today, this particular Sunday you are down and out, feeling abandoned or lost, take comfort in knowing that JESUS is praying for you.  HIS precious prayer for all of us, is a gracious prayer, full of loving kindness and guidance.  HE never forgets HIS children and always remembers you and me.

JOHN 17: 26   “I MADE KNOWN TO THEM YOUR NAME, AND I WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE IT KNOWN, THAT THE LOVE WITH WHICH YOU HAVE LOVED ME MAY BE IN THEM, AND I IN THEM.”
