Our Pastor often reminds us that we are not a consumer Church. I love this reminder. I used to go to a very large Church so that I wouldn’t be noticed or asked to serve, but since I moved here to Arizona, that idea of mine quickly changed with GOD’S prompting.
Our Church encourages you to get involved in groups, studies and greeting or serving in some way. But one way or the other, we are asked to become involved. Do you ever ask yourself what your Church can do for you, or what you can do for your Church?
1 CORINTHIANS 12: 27 “NOW YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST AND INDIVIDUALLY MEMBERS OF IT.
We are individually members of it. Each one of us is important and our gifts can be used and developed by the Spirit.
DON’T CONSUME IN YOUR CHURCH……..CONTRIBUTE.
Don’t come and go each Sunday, find a way to stay. Stay and visit, speak with leadership or whatever else your Church offers and find a way to plug in. Offer your hands and feet, then be the hands and feet of CHRIST.
MATTHEW 5: 8 “BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL, FOR THEY WILL BE SHOWN MERCY.”
Serving and loving on your Church family is all about mercy and it’s all about grace. It’s all about forgetting about yourself and thinking vertically!
So……..serve with your heart. Serve with intention. Serve and learn something new. Serve with the Gospel in mind. Be the heartbeat of CHRIST. And then watch how your Church grows because you are just loving people well!
Amen! God created us as His body, each with our own parts. We have responsibilities, and will give and receive blessings upon blessings as we act in obedience to His leading.
