Having steadfastness is having a firm belief, a determination, having our eyes fixed upon the ONE who died for our sins, JESUS CHRIST.
And so in this new year are you remaining steadfast in what you are facing? We all face life’s problems in different ways…….but HIS way is truly the best way. There is a constant and dedicated countenance we all need to remain steadfast in our faith……..remaining steadfast is one of HIS many graces. This morning I am reminded again of my life verse:
PSALM 51: 10 “CREATE IN ME A CLEAN HEART, O GOD, AND RENEW A STEADFAST SPIRIT WITHIN ME.”
Oh that steadfast spirit! How does one come by this? The key word in all of this is to…….remain.
Remain in HIM! Refuse to be distracted by the world and all it’s evils. Come back to JESUS over and over and over again. HE never gets tired of our prayers or our needs. It’s why HE died on the CROSS and it’s why we can hold on to every single day for HIS grace and favor.
JOHN 15: 4 “REMAIN IN ME, AS I ALSO REMAIN IN YOU. NO BRANCH CAN BEAR FRUIT BY ITSELF; IT MUST REMAIN IN THE VINE. NEITHER CAN YOU BEAR FRUIT UNLESS YOU REMAIN IN ME.”
Jesus commanded us to remain in HIM……to remain steadfast. If you think about it, JESUS was steadfast in HIS mission for the world. He never wavered staying focused on the CROSS. And the FATHER gave HIM all the steadfastness HE needed.
1 JOHN 2: 6 “THE ONE WHO SAYS HE REMAINS IN HIM SHOULD WALK JUST AS HE WALKED.”
Remain in HIM…….walk as HE walked! HE is our shining example of how to remain steadfast in all our days. Every day remember to do this:
REMAIN AND BE STILL BEFORE HIM
Remain means to stay with someone. So find a way to be still. Stay focused and disciplined in all things GOD, whatever that looks like for you. Be intentional with that one thing. Start a new journal, write your heart down, write your prayers down so you can revisit them. Read HIS word faithfully. That is where you see the LORD’S steadfastness for you!
Our persistence and abiding comes to us from JESUS. Draw from HIS steadfastness and live it out. It might be hard to face the day, even this day, but remember the ONE who brought the day…….just for you!
1 JOHN 2: 28 ” SO NOW, LITTLE CHILDREN, REMAIN IN HIM SO THAT WHEN HE APPEARS WE MAY HAVE CONFIDENCE AND NOT BE ASHAMED BEFORE HIM AT HIS COMING.”
1 JOHN 4: 16 “GOD IS LOVE, AND THE ONE WHO REMAINS IN LOVE REMAINS IN GOD, AND GOD REMAINS IN HIM.”

What a blessing in that, the more we rely on God, the more He draws us near, and the more we WANT to rely on Him. Just like the vines and branches Jesus talks about: when we start weaning ourselves away from the True Vine, we become weaker and prone to disease. His Spirit is like the twine that ties us to the branch. He gives us everything we need to remain steadfast.
