Christmas is not meant to be celebrated one day a year. Oh how many of us celebrate with gifts and cheer and then move on to New Years……..missing the message!
We all live ordinary lives leading up to Christmas and we all continue to move forward through time. But the gift, the gift of the Baby, the gift of JESUS’ coming is quite extraordinary!
LUKE 1: 30 “BUT THE ANGEL SAID TO HER, DO NOT BE AFRAID, MARY; YOU HAVE FOUND FAVOR WITH GOD. YOU WILL CONCEIVE AND GIVE BIRTH TO A SON, AND YOU ARE TO CALL HIM JESUS.”
And this was good news………news no one had ever heard of before. News for a dark and dreary world riddled in sin. Good news for shepherds and sinners like you and me. What an awesome GOD! What an extraordinary GOD! Only a GOD of love would send down HIS love in the form of a baby named JESUS.
LUKE 2: 32-33 “HE WILL BE GREAT AND WILL BE CALLED THE SON OF THE MOST HIGH. THE LORD GOD WILL GIVE HIM THE THRONE OF HIS FATHER DAVID, AND HE WILL REIGN OVER JACOB’S DESCENDANTS FOREVER; HIS KINGDOM WILL NEVER END.”
What a message of hope……..this kingdom! And because we are HIS, HIS children, we should remember each day and be thankful.
JOHN 1: 12 “BUT TO ALL WHO BELIEVED HIM AND ACCEPTED HIM, HE GAVE THE RIGHT TO BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD.”
As HIS children, our hearts are changed, every day and every day growing and learning and being HIS hands and feet is what children of GOD do. So HIS coming at CHRISTMAS is never ending, because HE keeps coming for HIS children, HIS remnant of mankind.
The message of Christmas should change us every day of the year, not just at Christmas. JESUS came to transform us as sinners into Holy Ambassadors for the LORD. Because we were saved, we love others with a GOD changed heart of compassion and humility.
Our extraordinary GOD who puts an extra in the ordinary was born in a simple manger to change the world, to seek and redeem people……..every single day of the year.
HE is Messiah, King of KINGS, Lord of LORDS. And HIS light and message is for the world, every day every year. So remember Christmas after the date of December 25th has come and gone and keep it alive in your heart and soul all year long!
LUKE 1: 35 “SO THE HOLY ONE TO BE BORN WILL BE CALLED THE SON OF GOD.”
