Our very own Christmas trees should inspire us to remember HIS tree, HIS root, HIS righteous family tree. It’s a JESSE tree, Jesse who was David’s father, all in the lineage of JESUS, all of wonder and mystery and delight.
ISAIAH 11:1 “OUT OF THE STUMP OF DAVID’S FAMILY WILL GROW A SHOOT – YES, A NEW BRANCH BEARING FRUIT FROM THE OLD ROOT.”
Yes maybe we can see deeper into this tree idea when we remember that JESUS was always there from the BRANCH to the CROSS. Because HE died on a tree for you and for me……for our sins.
ISAIAH 4: 2 “BUT IN THAT DAY, THE BRANCH OF THE LORD WILL BE BEAUTIFUL AND GLORIOUS.”
And JESUS being the ONE referred to as the branch in Zechariah 3: 8:
“SOON I AM GOING TO BRING MY SERVANT, THE BRANCH.”
Each one of our very own Christmas trees have stories to tell and the ornaments are kept and treasured and displayed each year. Every tree has a story. JESUS and HIS family tree goes from tender BRANCH to the rugged tree that was the CROSS for all mankind.
It’s how GOD works through these generations that can be seen. And HE is working through your family and your generation too. And in the midst of this may we realize that HE has been faithful from the beginning of time……..from the BRANCH to the CROSS. HE has always been there providing for you and for me, our faithful IMMANUEL, GOD with us! Remember HIM today as you gaze upon your own tree and take comfort in knowing that HE is the righteous BRANCH for all!
ROMANS 11: 17 “AND YOU GENTILES, WHO WERE BRANCHES FROM A WILD OLIVE TREE, HAVE BEEN GRAFTED IN.”
