The depth and seriousness of our sin condition should not be taken lightly. I find that daily GOD convicts me of my sin…….HE always seems to highlight those sins, whether big or small and I am realizing more and more my need for a Savior.
There are Christians today who have accepted JESUS but HE is not their LORD. They never give another thought to sin and move forward like the rest of the world. Let us continually seek the LORD, but repent daily of our sins. Because……..there was only ONE perfect one and we are far from perfection.
JESUS came due to the depth of our sin. Since the fall in the Garden, sin has run rampant on this planet and it will continue to do so until CHRIST returns.
IF SIN WERE NOT REAL, GOD WOULD NOT HAVE SENT HIS ONE AND ONLY SON.
If sin were not real, then the CROSS of CHRIST would not be real either. Because of sin, JESUS came in human skin. A GOD man to redeem salvation.
1 CORINTHIANS 1: 18 “FOR THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS IS FOOLISHNESS TO THOSE WHO ARE PERISHING, BUT TO US WHO ARE BEING SAVED IT IS THE POWER OF GOD.”
Oh, the power of GOD! Oh, the power of the CROSS! Oh, the depth of mankind’s sin!
JESUS chose the nails for you and me. HE was perfect and sinless and yet HE died HIS death on the CROSS so that you and I could be saved.
ACTS 2: 23 “HIM, BEING DELIVERED BY THE DETERMINED PURPOSE AND FOREKNOWLEDGE OF GOD, YOU HAVE TAKEN BY LAWLESS HANDS, HAVE CRUCIFIED, AND PUT TO DEATH…….”
Lawless hands and evil hearts crucified HIM and yet at the point of death HE still gave grace to one of the sinners next to HIM when HE said this:
LUKE 23: 43 “AND HE SAID TO HIM, TRULY, I SAY TO YOU, TODAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.”
CHRIST said truly, for HE meant what HE said. And as a sinner knowing the depth of our sins, we should have this everlasting hope for tomorrow.
So thank GOD today…….for HIS unending promises of redemption and for HIS words of truth……
ROMANS 3: 23 “FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD.”
The only answer to the depth of our sins and our sinful condition is this:
THE CROSS.
And because the wages of sin is death we also have this promise……
1 JOHN 1: 9 “IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND RIGHTEOUS TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.”
To cleanse us……..from all sin. Not some of it, but all of it. It is why JESUS came. Sin is great, but the power of the CROSS is greater, today and forever.
1 JOHN 2: 2 “HE HIMSELF IS THE ATONING SACRIFICE FOR OUR SINS, AND NOT ONLY FOR OURS, BUT ALSO FOR THOSE OF THE WHOLE WORLD.”
