Being about the main thing is being all about the GOSPEL and JESUS. There are various times where we need to confront our own faulty theology.
Maybe someone put an unusual thought into your head that truly doesn’t align with what scripture tells us, or maybe you were raised without religion or even where religion was used as a punishment. Sooner or later we all need to check and confront what we believe. Is it the true GOSPEL and not a watered down version? Our faulty theologies tend to be comfortable and very horizontal with the world. Our gospel may not be what the real truth is.
Since my husband and I both have been diagnosed with cancer in less than a year from one another, GOD is continuing to put me in situations where I hear that small voice say: “so where is your faith now?”
The true GOSPEL holds our feet to the fire so to speak. And we should not be distracted by the enemy with irreverent silly myths. Read this……
1 TIMOTHY 4: 7-8 “HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IRREVERENT, SILLY MYTHS. RATHER TRAIN YOURSELF FOR GODLINESS; FOR WHILE BODILY TRAINING IS OF SOME VALUE, GODLINESS IN EVERY WAY, AS IT HOLDS PROMISE FOR THE PRESENT LIFE AND ALSO FOR THE LIFE TO COME.”
So, back to our faulty theology, we need to remember it is satan’s world and often we let those influences twist what we do know without realizing it. Keeping in the word every single day prevents us from being influenced. Keeping in the word guides us and checks us daily. So often I open my Bible and read GOD’S word and think: wow, I sure got that wrong!
Are we teachable? Are we willing to change? Are we willing to surrender? Because sometimes our theology is faulty and JESUS also knows this about us. That is HIS reason for the GREAT COMMAND to us:
MARK 29-31 “JESUS ANSWERED, “THE MOST IMPORTANT IS, HEAR O ISRAEL: THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE. AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH. THE SECOND IS THIS: YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. THERE IS NO OTHER COMMANDMENT GREATER THEN THESE.”
And those listening to HIM at the time said: YOU are right TEACHER. We are all in GOD’S classroom, so let’s learn from HIM, keeping our eyes on HIM and not meaningless irreverent myths etc. Sit at HIS feet like a Mary, not distracted like Martha. Behold your GOD and come to HIM in your own way. HE wants your heart more than anything.
Only HIS word and CHRIST Himself is good……..stay about the main thing. Because the BIBLE convicts and also condemns our faulty theologies.
DEUTERONOMY 7: “KNOW THEREFORE THAT THE LORD YOUR GOD IS GOD, THE FAITHFUL GOD WHO KEEPS COVENANT AND STEADFAST LOVE WITH THOSE WHO LOVE HIM AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS TO A THOUSAND GENERATIONS.”
