HEAVENSREEF

My husband and I drive home in the quiet, me at the wheel and he is in the passenger seat.  It’s quiet because my husband just finished chemo and he falls asleep immediately and who can blame him?  It’s all the chemicals, the steroids and the shots taking their toll.

The quiet gives me time to think and time to ask GOD “do you see us?”  It’s a bit of a drive home and I can only think of El Roi which means the GOD who sees me.   To know this is a comfort.  To believe that we are under HIS watchful care is a blessing.

PSALM 33:  13 -15  “THE LORD LOOKS DOWN FROM HEAVEN; HE OBSERVES EVERYONE.  HE GAZES ON ALL THE INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH FROM HIS DWELLING PLACE.  HE FORMS THE HEARTS OF THEM ALL; HE CONSIDERS ALL THEIR WORKS.”

If GOD’S watchful eye is on the lowly sparrow, how much more is HE attentive to each of us, HIS beloved?   And so I realize that in the midst of all the cancer treatments that GOD still sees us, HE sees me when no one else does.  HE knows my broken heart and hears my cries for help in all the quiet around me.

I find it interesting……..that sometimes when you need it the most, that human touch, that word of concern for you, all is quiet.  Maybe this is GOD’S way of making you aware of your being alone and needing HIM……..the GOD who sees.

HE sees me.  And HE sees you.  HE sees our circumstances and HE is faithful to us.  In the midst of all my quiet these days HE reminds me of HIS caring HAND. 

I have seen the GOD who sees me……..my heart is drawn to HIM……..drawn to the GOD who sees. 

PSALM 121: 3-4  “HE WILL NOT ALLOW YOUR FOOT TO SLIP; BEHOLD THE PROTECTOR OF ISRAEL WILL NEITHER SLUMBER NOR SLEEP.”

The LORD is our keeper, night and day, every day, because HE is the one who sees.   From the beginning of time and from Abraham until now…….HE…….SEES!

And because HE sees, I know that I am never alone, even in all the quiet, even when no one else notices, even when no one else asks.  The GOD of the universe cares for me and HE cares for you.  So if you are feeling alone today in the quiet, use that time to commune with the GOD of Abraham and the GOD who is eternal.   Thank HIM that HE cares for you.  HE has you safely in HIS hands…….because HE is EL ROI, the GOD who sees!
