DIAGONALS

I’ve always kinda liked diagonals.  When I learned back in geometry class that the shortest line between two points was a diagonal, I was hooked on the idea.  To this day I still like and use the concept.    I enjoy placing a piece of furniture on a diagonal in a corner.  It just looks better to me, but know that I certainly am not a decorator!

I tend to use the diagonal idea even when walking my pup Emma.  When I am pressed for time we hit those diagonals whenever possible to get us home quickly.

I bring up diagonals because we don’t always walk a very straight line with GOD.  Often HE takes us on a different path than we had in mind…….

PROVERBS 16: 9  “THE HEART OF MAN PLANS HIS WAY, BUT THE LORD ESTABLISHES HIS STEPS.”

GOD provides the twists and turns to the plans we think we have, especially when we walk closely with HIM.  When the LORD is your co-pilot you can leave the driving to HIM.  What a relief and what a freedom.  You can abandon your plans and just watch GOD work.  You can get up in the morning and say:  your will LORD,not mine.

WHEN GOD IS YOUR CO-PILOT YOU CANNOT GO WRONG

I like to think that sometimes GOD takes me on those diagonals to get me where I need to be quickly.  We tend to make our situations so complicated don’t we?  But the LORD gives us just enough light that we need each day to get us through to the next.  And often HE takes us upon an unexpected path we would never even think about.  This happens because we each are on our own special journey to our final destination to be with the LORD.

PROVERBS 2: 20  “SO YOU WILL FOLLOW IN THE WAYS OF THE GOOD, AND KEEP TO THE PATHS OF THE RIGHTEOUS.”

Today being the LORD’S day, let’s abandon our wills and let GOD direct us and guide us.  GOD is good and kind and has the best in mind for us.  Remind yourself today and let the LORD be your comfort.

JEREMIAH 29: 11  “FOR I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU,” DECLARES THE LORD, “PLANS TO PROSPER YOU AND NOT TO HARM YOU, PLANS TO GIVE YOU HOPE AND A FUTURE.”
