STUMBLE TOWARDS GOD

We all stumble from time to time……..when we do, let’s be certain we stumble towards GOD and not away from HIM.

STUMBLE INTO THE SAFETY OF HIS ARMS!

I have been doing a lot of stumbling these days, like getting things so mixed up and turned around and then getting frustrated and angry…….ugh.   With the new diagnosis and all the appointments and a new schedule consuming our lives I feel like I meet myself coming as I am going!

Just the other day going to a new place I got terribly lost driving to pick up my husband from his dialysis.  I got so turned around and lost in a neighborhood with round abouts etc. that kept me on a loop…….and I cried out to GOD to get me out of here!  My feelings got the best of me, but instead of even trusting my GPS, I trusted GOD to help me…….and HE did.   HE calmed me down to help me logically think about what direction I needed to go.

HIS ARMS ARE ALWAYS READY TO CATCH US

What a comfort and blessing HIS arms are………

DEUTERONOMY 33: 27  “THE ETERNAL GOD  IS YOUR REFUGE AND UNDERNEATH ARE THE EVERLASTING ARMS.”

A question then that we can all ponder is this:  would we rather have our merciful GOD catch us when we stumble and sin, or have the world as we know it catch us and try to comfort us?

JAMES 3: 2  “FOR WE ALL STUMBLE IN MANY WAYS…….”

GOD is our safe place when we stumble and may we learn to not run away from HIM when we sin!  Because there is forgiveness in HIS arms when we repent of our sinfulness.  On this side of Heaven we have the assurance that HE never abandons us.   And since none of us are perfect…….there was only ONE perfect SON who will provide exactly what we need:  mercy and grace.

These days I tend to rejoice in my stumbling…….GOD is keeping me humble and showing me I cannot go it alone.  And HE says that it is alright, because HE loves me more than I can know.

So today……..if you have lost hope and stumbled and sinned…….stumble towards our great GOD of the universe who is just waiting to catch you!

JUDE 24  “NOW TO HIM WHO IS ABLE TO PROTECT YOU FROM STUMBLING AND TO MAKE YOU STAND IN THE PRESENCE OF HIS GLORY, WITHOUT BLEMISH AND WITH GREAT JOY…….”

  1. Excellent reminder, Maxine (to me at least), that even as we age and grow in the Lord, we can’t fight the fact that we are locked in our corrupt flesh. No matter how strong our walk with the Lord, we will always stumble. As you say, when we do, we must turn to God and seek forgiveness and restoration.

May God bless you and your husband abundantly in these very challenging days for the two of you!
