It’s funny how small things we see around us will remind us of our GOD.  HE is always there for us and remains faithful more than anyone and in these reminders HE draws us closer to HIM.

I noticed the last couple of times I drove into our neighborhood a  car that had a license plate that said this: BWORTHY.  BE worthy.  And so it made me rethink how unworthy we truly are and how worthy our LORD and Savior is.   As I travel along this road of life JESUS reminds me  and convicts me of the unworthy traveler that I am.  I need JESUS, the only one WORTHY of my praise and adoration.

REVELATION 4: 11  “WORTHY ARE YOU, OUR LORD AND GOD, TO RECEIVE GLORY AND HONOR AND POWER, FOR YOU CREATED ALL THINGS, AND BY YOUR WILL THEY EXISTED AND WERE CREATED.”

As we prepare our hearts and minds for this HOLY WEEK……..don’t lose sight of the CROSS and what CHRIST did there for you and for me.

JESUS WILLINGLY CHOSE THE NAILS.

It was HIS choice to go to the CROSS for us, not the men crucifying HIM.  HE was in complete control and was fulfilling what the FATHER required of HIM.  HE was not at the mercy of cruel men, but was steadfast in HIS commitment to the CROSS for this reason:

JOHN 19: 30  “WHEN JESUS HAD RECEIVED THE SOUR WINE, HE SAID, “IT IS FINISHED,” AND HE BOWED HIS HEAD AND GAVE UP HIS SPIRIT.”

IT………IS…….FINISHED!  There is no eternal for me or eternal for you……..unless JESUS died on the CROSS!   HE accomplished the saving work for us all, HE fulfilled scripture and so……..it is finished!

PSALM 69: 21  “THEY GAVE ME POISON FOR FOOD, AND FOR MY THIRST THEY GAVE ME SOUR WINE TO DRINK.”

If you take communion this weekend, remember that CHRIST died for the unworthy.  Christians should know and understand that JESUS owes us nothing, yet HE still chose the CROSS. 

So with CHRIST we can walk in a manner worthy in this world because we are redeemed by HIS grace.  Paul reminded us of this in the Book of Ephesians……..

EPHESIANS 4: 1-3  “I THEREFORE, A PRISONER FOR THE LORD, URGE YOU TO WALK IN A MANNER WORTHY OF THE CALLING TO WHICH YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED, WITH ALL HUMILITY AND GENTLENESS, WITH PATIENCE, BEARING WITH ONE ANOTHER IN LOVE, EAGER TO MAINTAIN THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT IN THE BOND OF PEACE.”

So……..be worthy.  Walk with humility and gentleness, patience and love for one another.  The CROSS of CHRIST has made us worthy in HIS eyes.  Because HE chose the CROSS for you and for me.  Let’s remain thankful this HOLY WEEK…….because HE is worthy of all our adoration and praise!
