So here we are, already the month of February and I pray that GOD has brought you all good things!  Because when we cling to HIS goodness, the glass is always half full.  We see all HIS blessings poured out for us from HIS capable loving HANDS.  And our LORD is capable and uncontainable in all HIS goodness…….immeasurable.

ZECHARIAH 9: 17  “FOR HOW GREAT IS HIS GOODNESS, AND HOW GREAT IS HIS BEAUTY!”

HIS goodness can only be seen through a heart of thankfulness.  Being thankful turns my head towards GOD.  HE is the giver of all things…….life, breath and soul and spirit.

Going through cancer creates a need to cling to something that feels stable…….your world is upended and so you reach and cling to something, anything that will somehow make the situation better.  Clinging to HIS goodness was all I had.  I couldn’t trust anything else except GOD!  And in that trust HE held me and got me though each doctor visit and each surgery and each treatment.  I currently have a sweet friend who was diagnosed not long ago……she is going through all that I did and I hear her fear and anxiety.  And I remind her to cling to HIS goodness over all.

TITUS 3: 4  “BUT WHEN THE GOODNESS AND LOVING KINDNESS OF GOD OUR SAVIOR APPEARED, HE SAVED US, NOT BECAUSE OF WORKS DONE BY US IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY……..”

HIS mercy for us is good…….all the time.  HIS goodness is something tangible to cling to……..all the time.

PSALM 86:5  “FOR YOU, O LORD, ARE GOOD AND FORGIVING ABOUNDING IN STEADFAST LOVE TO ALL WHO CALL UPON YOU.”

Call upon the LORD and cling to all HIS goodness.  Sometimes we feel we have nothing in this world but HIM, so we cling and we abide and we get through the tough stuff.  And in the middle of all of it we realize that HE has never abandoned us because HE is a faithful GOD through and through.

THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE PLANS AND ACTS ACCORDING TO HIS GOOD PLEASURE.

The LORD GOD is good to us in every way but the good news is HIS forgiveness for our sins that is always available to us, we need only to recognize our sins and ask for forgiveness.  HE who hears our prayers will forgive, because HE is good.

PSALM 145: 7  “THEY SHALL UTTER THE MEMORY OF YOUR GREAT GOODNESS, AND SHALL SING OF YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

May we speak of HIS goodness, treasure it within our hearts and cling to it daily in all our lives!  Cling to HIM in your sadness and in your joy.  But cling and draw near and HE will draw near to you with HIS comfort and peace.  Let’s remind ourselves of HIS goodness when nothing else makes sense in this broken world…….because HE is good, now and today, forever and ever!

PSALM 125: 4  “DO GOOD, O LORD, TO THOSE WHO ARE GOOD, AND TO THOSE WHO ARE UPRIGHT IN THEIR HEARTS.”
