MEANINGFUL OVER MATERIAL

The world causes us to see that next beautiful thing that we need to make us happy.  It’s the bigger house, the nicer car or truck, the newer phone.  It’s that next pretty blouse in our closet but, it’s all a lie really, cause none of the material will make us happy.  That next material possession will never give us the true happiness our souls crave.

A TRAGIC LIFE IS THE ONE WHO SEEKS POSSESSIONS OVER SOULS.

There is living and striving and success in the world with all it’s titles and all it’s recognition.  Well, if it all were so wonderful then why are so many unhappy?  And then, there is living and loving those around us with a gospel love which is loving people over material things.

GOD calls us to a humble life, a life being content with what we already have and own.  HE has us exactly where HE wants us, so it is a matter of finding your contentment in CHRIST over striving for that next “thing”.

Sometimes I just want to buy that next lovely thing, but what will make me truly happy is not material….it is JESUS and HIS love for me and all that HE is.  HE is the lover of my soul and in turn that is what I should want “next”……to love the next soul near me.

PSALM 71: 18 “EVEN WHEN I AM OLD AND GRAY GOD, DO NOT ABANDON ME WHILE I PROCLAIM YOUR POWER TO ANOTHER GENERATION, YOUR STRENGTH TO ALL WHO ARE TO COME.”

May we find the meaningful in being HIS hands and feet of love to win souls for JESUS.  It’s not about what you have, it’s about what and where your heart is.  Where are your priorities today?  Are they all about that next “thing” that next accomplishment, or are they about winning souls for the Kingdom?

We are all so unique in HIS image, let us be who GOD authentically made us so that we can relate to the world showing the light of CHRIST within us.

JOHN 3: 21  “BUT ANYONE WHO LIVES BY THE TRUTH COMES TO THE LIGHT, SO THAT HIS WORKS MAY BE  SHOWN TO BE ACCOMPLISHED BY GOD.”

JESUS said to HIS disciples that HE would make them fishers of men, not that HE would give them more “stuff” that they needed.  Having JESUS is all we truly need.  Everything we could ever acquire pales in comparison of HIS love and guidance for us.

PHILIPPIANS 1: 27  “JUST ONE THING: AS CITIZENS OF HEAVEN, LIVE YOUR LIFE WORTHY OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST.”

IT’S that living your life WORTHY OF THE GOSPEL that should get us, get us deep in our souls.  It should get us to want to “get” souls for the Kingdom over material possessions.

Look at your sphere of influence…….. there are many souls that are in desperate need of HIS light!  People want someone to love and just notice and hear them.  We live a life more meaningful when we live to bring souls to the Kingdom.  How we do this is very unique to each of our own life situations and how we are gifted by GOD.

Let’s remember when we stand before GOD in heaven HE won’t ask us what we owned, HE will ask us “who did you love in MY name?”  GOD calls us to that meaningful life in HIS name………a life of love, grace and mercy…….a meaningful life in JESUS name!

1 JOHN 2: 17  “AND THIS WORLD IS FADING AWAY, ALONG WITH EVERYTHING THAT PEOPLE CRAVE.  BUT ANYONE WHO DOES WHAT PLEASES GOD WILL LIVE FOREVER.”

    1. Oh Kathy thank you for your very sweet encouragement. You have no idea how I needed to hear, especially this week. May we live the life that CHRIST intended for each of us and may we point all who come near to or dear LORD and Savior, JESUS!!

  2. Oh, if we could be kingdom minded at all times. But this flesh gets in the way as do the fears we often feel when sharing the gospel with someone.

As we love people and listen, as you said, may we share Jesus with them in whatever manner the Lord prompts us to. We just need to be attentive.
