Let’s take a small glory trip together shall we?  In so many ways we honor and glorify GOD, but HE doesn’t need our praise at all because HE IS GLORY!  GOD HIMSELF says that HE is glory……

ZECHARIAH 2: 5  “FOR I, SAYS THE LORD, WILL BE A WALL OF FIRE ALL AROUND HER, AND I WILL BE THE GLORY IN HER MIDST.”

In this passage GOD is speaking of Jerusalem and HIS protective wall of fire around them, and that HIS glory would return to them. 

GOD’S GLORY REIGNS FOREVER.

In the Old Testament when the ark was brought to the temple, the glory of GOD was there…..

2 CHRONICLES 5:14  “…….FOR THE GLORY OF THE LORD FILLED THE HOUSE OF GOD.”

WHEREVER THE LORD IS, THERE IS GLORY.

What is this glory that is wherever the LORD resides and shouldn’t we praise this glorious GOD?

PSALM 24: 7-8  “LIFT UP YOUR HEADS, O YOU GATES!  AND BE LIFTED UP, YOU EVERLASTING DOORS!  AND THE KING OF GLORY SHALL COME IN.  WHO IS THIS KING OF GLORY?  THE LORD STRONG AND MIGHTY.  THE LORD MIGHTY IN BATTLE.”

May we look up and stay vertical with our praise to a GOD who is more glorious than we can ever understand. 

PSALM 63: 2  “SO I HAVE LOOKED FOR YOU IN THE SANCTUARY, TO SEE YOUR POWER AND YOUR GLORY.”

ISAIAH 60: 19  “BUT THE LORD WILL BE TO YOU AN EVERLASTING LIGHT, AND YOUR GOD YOUR GLORY.”

Our GOD is glorious period.  HE IS GLORY.  We cannot add to HIM or take away.  What a comfort to know that HE is immeasurable GLORY!

In the dictionary there are many definitions of glory.  One is a “great beauty and splendor: magnificence.”  Another definition is this: “something that secures praise or renown.”  I like this one best……GOD DOES secure our praise due to HIS glory.  GOD’S glory is evident too, when we glorify HIM with praise, prayer and spiritual songs.

If you take a true glory trip, you will find that trying to explain GOD’S glory is quite indescribable!  I can’t find the right words…….can you?  GOD’S glory is so immense, so much bigger than we all are, so much larger than any of us can truly understand.  But I know with all my being that GOD is amazing and wonderful in HIS character that is pure glory!  GOD’S glory is all around, in us, and was sent to us through HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST.  Our glorious GOD sent HIS SON to show us HIS glory.  Thank you dear LORD for sending JESUS!

PSALM 115: 1  “NOT TO US, LORD, NOT TO US BUT TO YOUR NAME BE THE GLORY, BECAUSE OF YOUR LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS.”

GOD is glorified when those who follow HIM, revere HIM and give all the praise to HIM.  JESUS spoke about following HIM and producing fruit for the glorious kingdom…….

JOHN 15: 8  “THIS IS TO MY FATHER’S GLORY, THAT YOU BEAR MUCH FRUIT, SHOWING YOURSELVES TO BE MY DISCIPLES.”

All we do, say and think brings glory to Father GOD, if we are abiding daily in HIS presence and holding HIS word close in our hearts, seeking HIS wisdom and guidance over the world’s.  JESUS also says this:

JOHN 17: 10  “AND GLORY HAS COME TO ME THROUGH THEM.”

My heart’s desire is for that day……..that day when I will stand in HIS glorious presence!  I cannot really imagine.  But I know it is at the end of my journey here……and I know only then will I understand what the extent of HIS true glory is!

JOHN 1:14  “AND THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US, AND WE BEHELD HIS GLORY, THE GLORY AS OF THE ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER, FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH.”
