As 2021 begins, we all rethink again and take stock as to where we are in life.  After the year we just had, some want a fresh start, others set goals and many make resolutions.

The problem with resolutions is that they don’t stick…….usually you have broken them by March.  Some people choose words to focus upon instead.  I started this habit many years ago and it has stuck with me.  I find I am able to focus on a particular word that GOD has revealed to me and I am able to learn all about it, look up as much scripture that relates to it and eventually over the course of the year, I have embraced my word in a way like never before.  Sometimes, I am sad to let my word go in order to choose a new one!

This year my word is: Light.  And besides choosing a word, I have also written a mission statement to keep me focused and to reread often to keep me on the path of HIS light.  Staying on HIS path is always better than my own way and HIS way, will lead to maturity.

When GOD’S beautiful light shines into our worlds for the first time, we are awestruck by HIS goodness, grace and mercy and our lives change completely, now with a purpose and we are transformed by a light shining within us……..

ISAIAH 60: 1  “ARISE, SHINE FOR YOUR LIGHT HAS COME, AND THE GLORY OF THE LORD SHINES OVER YOU.”

Our paths of light are like this…….

PROVERBS 4: 18  “THE PATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS IS LIKE THE LIGHT OF THE DAWN, SHINING BRIGHTER AND BRIGHTER UNTIL MIDDAY……”

GOD’S light will awaken something new……..yes new within us and we are new creations when we accept JESUS into our hearts and minds and souls.  HIS guiding light is a transforming presence…….HIS light by the Holy Spirit guides, protects, discerns, teaches and even provides all that we need in this life. 

When JESUS sits on the thrown of our lives…….we see and are only drawn to that ONE light, the true glory of HIM.

JOHN 8: 12  “JESUS SPOKE TO THEM AGAIN:  “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.  ANYONE WHO FOLLOWS ME WILL NEVER WALK IN DARKNESS BUT WILL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE.”

HE is the way and the light, yes the light of the world and nothing compares. And HE is telling us here and now that we will never walk in darkness again!

What JESUS was teaching HIS followers and for us too, is that HE is a promise of the light of salvation and the light of GOD. And oh what a joy it is to have this light!

We all were once walking in darkness…….but now have come to this marvelous light.  The darkness of this world is confusing and exhausting with the powers of darkness pulling us in all directions.  When all else has failed and we are pulled to our knees and pulled to HIS light, a new person is born again! 

PSALM 27: 1  “THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION; WHOM SHALL I FEAR?

In HIS marvelous light we find that now there is a purpose to life, now there is a plan for our life and now there is a true path that is filled with light to show us the way to go.

PSALM 119: 105  “YOUR WORD IS A LAMP TO MY FEET AND A LIGHT TO MY PATH.”

 

In this New Year…….may the light of CHRIST shine upon you and lead you safe and securely wherever life takes you dear reader.  I pray for you that HIS Holy Word will continually shed it’s amazing light upon you!  And may you search continually for that perfect light and see HIM in HIS glory!
