You may have started to prepare your home for Christmas……but have you prepared your heart?

As I sit and gaze at my tree, I am touched by the light it extends into the room…….it is so peaceful, and yet so brilliant!

The warm lights draw my inner soul to them……..

PSALM 27: 1 “THE LORD IS MY LIGHT AND MY SALVATION; WHOM SHALL I FEAR?”

Preparing our hearts is a way to submit under HIS glory.  As we prepare, let’s remember together…….

The Shepherds first learned about JESUS from an angel who stood before them in the LORD’S glory.  This glory must have been an amazing light that the Shepherds were instantly drawn to.  The New Living Translation says this……

LUKE 2: 9  “SUDDENLY, AN ANGEL OF THE LORD APPEARED AMONG THEM, AND THE RADIANCE OF THE LORD’S GLORY SURROUNDED THEM.”

Radiance is light that is reflected by something.  And this something was the LORD!  Let yourself be drawn to the light this season, because we were created by our Creator to seek the light.

PSALM 118: 27  “THE LORD IS GOD, AND HE HAS MADE HIS LIGHT TO SHINE UPON US.”

We tend to desire the light……could it be because HIS light is within us?  In the Sermon on the Mount, JESUS said: “you are the light of the world”.

MATTHEW 5: 16 “IN THE SAME WAY, LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE OTHERS, SO THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS AND GIVE GLORY TO YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN.”

JESUS AND HIS LIGHT EXPOSES THE SHADOWS IN A CHRISTIAN’S HEART.  LET’S LOOK AT THOSE SHADOWS…….

HIS light exposes every kind of lie, deceit and every form of evil!  Light always overcomes the darkness.  JESUS and HIS light shines brilliantly through the darkness and JESUS said this…….

JOHN 12: 35  “WALK WHILE YOU HAVE THE LIGHT, LEST DARKNESS OVERTAKE YOU; HE WHO WALKS IN DARKNESS DOES NOT KNOW WHERE HE IS GOING.”

How many today have no idea where they are going?  How many are truly lost? Let’s remind ourselves of this too…….

JOHN 12: 36  “WHILE YOU HAVE THE LIGHT, BELIEVE IN THE LIGHT, THAT YOU MAY BECOME SONS OF LIGHT.”

LET’S BELIEVE IN THIS LIGHT!  LET’S STRIVE TO BECOME SONS OF THE LIGHT. 

GOD SAID IN THE BEGINNING, “LET THERE BE LIGHT” AND WHEN HE SAW IT SCRIPTURE TELLS US THIS…..

GENESIS 1: 4 “GOD SAW THAT THE LIGHT WAS GOOD…..”

I love this……just to know when I am drawn to the light that the light is ALWAYS good!  His light is a symbol of grace and GOD bringing light, HIS presence, into our world.

HIS light is everlasting……be drawn to it over and over this Christmas season and let your heart be filled with radiant joy!

ISAIAH 60: 5 “THEN YOU SHALL SEE AND BECOME RADIANT.  AND YOUR HEART SHALL SWELL WITH JOY.”
