Here in Arizona it is a big deal to set off fireworks on New Years.  I only associate it all with July 4th, but I see the tents are set up here everywhere you go.

Fireworks can be so merry, so happy and so beautiful can’t they? I know some people just need to get through New Years too.  It can be a lonely time if you don’t have those loved ones to spend it with.  People everywhere are dealing with hard and broken things, maybe it is sickness or the recent loss of a loved one.  We live in a broken world, and GOD knows and sees the brokenness we live in…….

But yet……..we have a wonderful GOD!

We have a GOD who didn’t leave us in our brokenness; who sent HIS SON, as a gift, Jesus, the Savior of the World!

OH HOW VERY MERRY WONDERFUL!

ISAIAH 9:6  “FOR TO US A CHILD IS BORN, TO US A SON IS GIVEN; AND THE GOVERNMENT SHALL BE UPON HIS SHOULDER, AND HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER, PRINCE OF PEACE.”

You see…….we then, are not left to our own desires.  Our very natures are so sinful, but GOD sent HIS only SON, JESUS to rescue us from our very selves! 

GOD IN ALL HIS GOODNESS HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD!

HOW VERY MERRY WONDERFUL!

Knowing that GOD came for us, to rescue us, should fill our hearts with much joy, unspeakable joy!

Let’s ask ourselves…….did JESUS bring us JOY this past Christmas?  Was HE your joy in the midst of all the hard and tough stuff you might be dealing with right now?  Because you can’t have CHRISTMAS without CHRIST in it!  And you can’t think on CHRISTMAS without having joy fill your heart.

JESUS was GOD’S gift to mankind and I pray you found your joy in HIM, instead of in the gifts around the tree. 

JESUS IS THE INDESCRIBABLE GIFT, A GIFT LIKE NONE OTHER!

Set your heart right now upon JESUS and let’s carry those treasures of HIM right into our New Year of 2020.

Since we have been given this precious gift, what then, shall we do with it?  Let us all give it away with open hearts and open arms……..

1 CORINTHIANS 10: 31 “SO, WHATEVER YOU EAT OR DRINK, OR WHATEVER YOU DO, DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD.”

We are to be imitators of CHRIST…….we are HIS ambassadors and we were saved by HIM, so we could share HIS love with those around us.

SHARE THE GOSPEL WITH OTHERS THIS YEAR!

In the New Year, let’s remember to give our hearts away, give your heartfelt joy to someone who needs it…….be joyous, be grateful, be loving, be passionate…….passionate for JESUS!

AND OH, HOW MERRY WONDERFUL YOU WILL BE!

Because JESUS loves us, when no one else will and that is so very…….merry……..wonderful!

PSALM 139: 14 “WONDERFUL ARE YOUR WORKS; MY SOUL KNOWS IT VERY WELL.”

When we believe that HE is the gift, the only gift worthwhile, we take it, receive it with all our being, then turn to others and give it away……..we embrace more of HIM and less of ourselves.

OH HOW MERRY WONDERFUL JESUS IS!

Let’s begin 2020 with the joy of that Babe, born long ago in the Manger……..HE is Christmas and we can embrace HIM every single day of the New Year.  Let this be known to all who will listen.  JESUS came down from Heaven for you and for me and for mankind…….because of HIS mighty love for us……..IMMANUEL GOD WITH US!
