HEAVENSREEF

We are in a season together of waiting and expecting.  It is a season of glorious wonder and adoration.  Long ago, they were waiting too…….waiting for their KING.

My heart is so full this particular Christmas season.  I chose the word: abundant last year and if JESUS has taught me anything, HE has shown me all the ways HIS abundant love surrounds us continually.  I have learned to look vertical in all things.  And so HIS abundant provision continues all around me and I am continually thankful for all I have.  Yes, there have been some hard things, because life is never perfect, but even in my tears, when I looked to GOD, my broken heart filled back up abundantly.  

Each day this December is a day of waiting, so the question is: can we rest in that?  Long ago it was written down, those words preserved for us today…….

ISAIAH 11:1 “THEN A SHOOT WILL GROW FROM THE STUMP OF JESSE, AND A BRANCH FROM HIS ROOTS WILL BEAR FRUIT.  THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD WILL REST ON HIM……”

The scripture of old is rich in it’s expectation of the sacred KING to come…….

ISAIAH 11:10 “ON THAT DAY THE ROOT OF JESSE WILL STAND AS A BANNER FOR THE PEOPLES.  THE NATIONS WILL LOOK TO HIM FOR GUIDANCE AND HIS RESTING PLACE WILL BE GLORIOUS.”

When we wait on the LORD, instead of going on ahead on our own, the wait is always worth it…….

ISAIAH 12: 3 & 4 “YOU WILL JOYFULLY DRAW WATER FROM THE SPRINGS OF SALVATION, AND ON THAT DAY YOU WILL SAY: GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD; PROCLAIM HIS NAME!”

Could it be, that in the waiting, HE works in your heart in an abundant way?  When you wait and let “HIS will be done” could the waiting be everything that we need to adore HIM?  Isn’t JESUS the greatest gift we could ever have or receive?

So my friends, I have learned with the passing of time how to……..

rest in the waiting.

What that means, is to be at peace in the middle of a waiting on GOD to answer or to show us what comes next.  It is a trust…….a trust to just wait peacefully, knowing that GOD’S way is better than our own.  It is a waiting without all the worry because GOD says HE will carry us through all things.  We may not see what is coming, but GOD does and HE knows our story better than we do.  And isn’t HIS way, the best way…….the only way?

PROVERBS 20: 27: THE SPIRIT OF A MAN IS THE LAMP OF THE LORD, SEARCHING ALL THE INNER DEPTHS OF HIS HEART.”

Since the LORD knows our next breath, why wouldn’t we wait on HIM?  The baby JESUS came, because love came down for us.  While we were still sinners, HE loved and still loves us that much!

In this advent of IMMANUEL we wait……..as we wait we draw near to HIS light of wonder and we daily read the stories of old.  May we feel and know HIS hope and peace this Christmas.  Let us wait and remember together.

ISAIAH 7:14 “THEREFORE THE LORD HIMSELF WILL GIVE YOU A SIGN.  BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL CONCEIVE AND BEAR A SON, AND SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL.”

ISAIAH 8: 17 “AND I WILL WAIT ON THE LORD……”
