What we fill ourselves with matters. We try to take in the right food for nourishment so why not take in the best we can for our souls? We all on this planet have a need to fill a hole within us that was placed there by the Almighty GOD in Heaven. HE knew what HE was doing when HE placed it there and everyone comes to a point to try to place meaning in their lives and why they exist in the first place. We all become seekers of spiritual food. Some realize this more than others. Some have their eyes and their hearts opened to see. I am thanking GOD today with those who see right along with me.
WHAT WE FILL OURSELVES WITH MEANS LIFE OR DEATH
The spirit of truth does give us the desire to fill our souls with all good things and that good is JESUS!
JOHN 6: 51 “I AM THE LIVING BREAD THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN. IF ANYONE EATS OF THIS BREAD, HE WILL LIVE FOREVER.”
Some fill this void, this hole within, with drugs, others with alcohol. Still others fill the void with fame and fortune, some with possessions and money.
JESUS IS THE BREAD OF LIFE
We all know what it is like to feel hungry, but what about soul hungry? Every generation searches, and every generation does find the answer. But there is only ONE answer, and HE is the gate.
JOHN 6: 50 “THIS IS THE BREAD THAT COMES DOWN FROM HEAVEN, SO THAT ONE MAY EAT OF IT AND NOT DIE.”
Isn’t it interesting that JESUS used something so very simple to describe HIMSELF? We all know and have tasted a delicious loaf of bread just baked in the oven. Bread is life giving to those who are hungry.
HE IS THE LIFE-GIVING BREAD
PSALM 34: 8 “OH TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD! BLESSED IS THE MAN WHO TAKES REFUGE IN HIM!”
Those who continually seek this life-giving bread, this bread from HEAVEN, will continually be satisfied and their souls nourished.
TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD!
No greater love can satisfy us. The temporary things of this world will always disappoint and never truly satisfy. And because we have a loving, gracious GOD, we are so very loved. Taste this Bread of Life today! Embrace it for the satisfaction of your soul!
JOHN 6: 48 “I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE.”
