NEW YEAR – NEW HEARTS

NEW HEARTS IN CHRIST

You can renew and have a new heart this year…….did you know?  Some of our hearts have been broken recently.  And we have no where to put the brokenness but into GOD’S hands.  Christmas was very difficult for me and my husband.  I won’t go into the why, but it’s hard to hear how wonderful other people’s  special day was when yours was filled with pain. Believe me I know there are many of us that rejoiced in our Savior and still walked through it with deep heart-felt pain.

I envision me handing my one broken heart to GOD and saying……will you fix this please?  Because change is hard and difficult sometimes.  Because often, those around us don’t understand or want to hear about our pain.  But GOD says this:

MATTHEW 12:  20   “A BRUISED REED HE WILL NOT BREAK, AND A SMOLDERING WICK HE WILL NOT SNUFF OUT…….”

Is your heart hardened?  CHRIST will soften it.  Is your heart completely broken?  CHRIST will heal it.  Is your heart complacent?  CHRIST will fill it with holy fire again.

A new heart and a new view, a biblical view, a vertical view is possible this coming year.  When we are in the valley HE comes for us because of HIS great love for us.  We can put our focus off of our problems and heartache and place our gaze……..vertical.

HE gives us new hearts for the journey we are on, and these hearts are being renewed each day.  It’s why HIS mercies are new each morning.  Your new heart is strong enough to carry you because of the ONE who carries you with HIS everlasting arms.

PSALM 73:  26   “MY FLESH AND MY HEART MAY FAIL, BUT GOD IS THE STRENGTH OF MY HEART AND MY PORTION FOREVER.”

I love that verse…….HE alone is the strength of my heart.  When I feel my heart is broken beyond repair, HE is the strength of my heart, not me at all!  Our flesh is dying every day and yet our hearts are renewing each day due to HIS mercy upon us.

We can look into the new year with a fresh heart perspective.  It’s a perspective that GOD is the only portion of our hearts that matter.

DEUTERONOMY 30:  6   “AND JEHOVAH THY GOD WILL CIRCUMCISE THY HEART, AND THE HEART OF THY SEED, TO LOVE JEHOVAH THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, THAT THOU MAYEST LIVE.”  ASV

It’s the circumcise that gets me in this verse.  It’s the cutting of the heart that matters.  Only then will we come humbly before GOD and know and realize that we cannot go forward alone.

With Jehovah (the eternal “I am”) our eternal GOD has our internal hearts held in HIS eternal and capable HANDS.  I have prayed recently:  LORD please be the strength of my heart.  When the hurt is so deep that your chest hurts, HE is the strength of your one broken heart.  Praise GOD in this Christian!

My heart and yours are being renewed each day……count on it…….count on your GOD!  And because of HIS grace for us, HE will and does renew our hearts in HIS time and in HIS way.  I thank HIM then, for the broken, because that is the only way my heart will be renewed and put back together even better than before!

In 2026 let’s pray for a heart like JESUS!  Because of HIS grace we will be given new spirit-led hearts, hearts that are eternal and just like HIS.  It’s a New Year……pray for a new heart!

EZEKIAL 11:  19   “AND I WILL GIVE THEM ONE HEART (A NEW HEART), AND PUT A NEW SPIRIT WITHIN THEM.  I WILL TAKE FROM THEM THE HEART OF STONE, AND WILL GIVE THEM A HEART OF FLESH (THAT IS RESPONSIVE TO MY TOUCH). AMP

  1. Thank you for sharing this post Maxine. I particularly like this encouraging point, “With Jehovah (the eternal “I am”) our eternal GOD has our internal hearts held in HIS eternal and capable HANDS.” It is powerful indeed! Our New Year early morning was spent in a hospital emergency department, not what we planned at all. Yet God blessed us in that all went well quickly and we were able to share time with some lovely people. God really is Good. May He continue to guide and bless you and your family today 🙏

  2. Maxine, I’m sorry your Christmas was so difficult, and that you are going through such pain. 🫂💗 I pray for you; you are lifted before God’s throne, and He envelopes you in His mercy. I am comforted, knowing you are crying unto our Lord and Saviour, as we stand before Him, arm in arm.
