STAY OPEN ENOUGH – NOT TOUGH ENOUGH

Stay Open and Vulnerable and Given

To walk this life, this one path we have, we must remain open enough to continue.  Those who choose to remove themselves, to isolate themselves really aren’t living at all.  We are in different seasons of life and so we need to walk in and work out our salvation…….

PHILIPPIANS 2:  12-13   “CONTINUE TO WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING, FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO WILL AND TO ACT IN ORDER TO FULFILL HIS GOOD PURPOSE.”

And since the purpose is HIS we need to remain open in mind, heart and soul instead of getting tougher.  We shouldn’t be closing ourselves off from the world, we should be reaching out more as time allows.  Our hearts and minds should stay open……open hands and open hearts ready for anything and anyone.

GOD WILL SEND YOU YOUR SEASON

Are you open to it?  What can you do about it?  Our constant work and our busyness can harden us over time.  Stay open and humble to what life brings your way.  Stay vulnerable and given.  Give more than you take.

And how are we able to do this?  Because GOD is our ROCK on which we stand even in our vulnerability and especially in HIS grace.

2 SAMUEL 22:  47   “THE LORD LIVES, AND BLESSED BE MY ROCK, AND EXALTED BE MY GOD, THE ROCK OF MY SALVATION.”

Not letting life in, will create a hardness.  We all know those people, the ones with walls around their hearts.  GOD wants our hearts soft enough so they will break…..oh LORD, let our hearts break for what breaks YOURS.  This can only happen when we let GOD take the reins of our lives and for HIM to show us our vulnerability and our very own inner heartbeats.  Let’s ask ourselves this:

WHEN TODAY CAN I BE THE HEARTBEAT OF CHRIST?

Stay open enough and vulnerable enough to love on the world……don’t close yourself off because GOD wants us in relationships even when they are hard.  You don’t have to be tough or a rock, that is what our GOD is for!

PSALM 18:  46   “THE LORD LIVES!  BLESSED BE MY ROCK!  LET THE GOD OF MY SALVATION BE EXALTED.”

Let GOD be the judge, let GOD be the rock and you in turn be HIS heartbeat.  Be HIS loving heartbeat in the season you are in, because HE is your rock and you can be soft.

EZEKIEL 11:  19   “AND I WILL GIVE THEM SINGLENESS OF HEART AND PUT A NEW SPIRIT WITHIN THEM.  I WILL TAKE AWAY THEIR STONY, STUBBORN HEART AND GIVE THEM A TENDER, RESPONSIVE HEART…….”

  1. Yes, it’s very tempting to play the turtle sometimes, and pull into our shells. It takes a lot of heart-humbling to open ourselves to God and each other. Although the Christian life can always be filled with the joy of the Lord, there’s no denying it’s often grueling.

    1. Ugh Kathy so well said. If I go into my shell at least it only lasts for a day at the most. GOD always kicks me in the butt and gets me out there again. HE is the GOD of connection. HE knows what we need to. And so I trust HIS lead.

  2. I often pray God will give me a new heart and a new Spirit. I need His help. I can’t do it on my own. Thank you for this thought provoking post. I agree with what Kathy said too. But you’re right, we need to stay open to love God, love people, and follow where the Lord leads. ♥️

  3. Sorry for the late reply, my Dear Sister. This was such a beautiful reminder. Staying open, tender, and teachable is exactly where God shapes us most. He’s our Rock so we don’t have to be.

      1. I’ve missed the past two weeks. With everything feeling so heavy at home lately, I’ve fallen out of the habit of watching church online and spending time in the Word.
