SUNDAY REFLECTIONS

HOW WE THINK IS HOW WE LIVE

It has been said, how we think is often how we live.  How we think……so what do we fill our minds with?  Because the world will claw and scrape to have a piece of our minds and lead us down a path we might not want to go down.

NEGATIVE THOUGHTS WILL CAUSE YOU TO LIVE DIFFERENTLY

Our minds can be a battlefield.  GOD wants us to fill our minds with all good and pure thoughts.  Satan wants us to doubt, to fill our minds with evil and horror and to focus on him.  He is the ultimate liar, deceiver and knows our weaknesses.  We must counter every evil thought with GOD’S goodness.

PHILIPPIANS 4: 6   “DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT IN EVERY SITUATION, BY PRAYER AND PETITION, WITH THANKSGIVING, PRESENT YOUR REQUESTS TO GOD.”

And in presenting our requests before GOD we need to fill our minds each day with what is true, noble, right, lovely and praiseworthy.  Have you noticed how negative the talk is around you lately?  I sure have and so I have to go to GOD and ask HIM to fill my mind with all of HIS pure goodness and grace.

PSALM 94: 19   “WHEN ANXIETY WAS GREAT WITHIN ME, YOUR CONSOLATION BROUGHT ME JOY.”

I long for joy don’t you?  The world will bring us down at every turn.  This is more evident now than ever before because we are in a spiritual battle.  And we need to fill our minds as much as possible with all of the following…….

PHILIPPIANS 4:  8  “FINALLY BROTHERS, WHATEVER IS TRUE, WHATEVER IS HONORABLE, WHATEVER IS JUST, WHATEVER IS PURE, WHATEVER IS LOVELY, WHATEVER IS COMMENDABLE, IF THERE IS ANY EXCELLENCE, IF THERE IS ANYTHING WORTHY OF PRAISE, THINK ABOUT THESE THINGS.”

Think about these things……..park your mind there.  We’ve seen what happens when satan gets hold of a mind, so don’t give him an inch.  Ask GOD to place your mind on all things concerning HIM.  It’s a battle, a battle for minds young and old.

It’s been a pressing and hard couple of weeks, but we can remain faithful to our GOD, just as HE has remained faithful to us.  Walk alongside our SAVIOR  by being steadfast in what you fill your mind and heart with………HIS word and HIS wisdom.  I keep reaching for GOD’S truth just to beat back all of this consuming darkness!

PSALM 63:  1   “O GOD, YOU ARE MY GOD, EARNESTLY I SEEK YOU; MY SOUL THIRSTS FOR YOU…….”

Filling our minds only with truth will allow us to speak the truth. It’s the only way to live with purpose and meaning all the while growing closer to our SAVIOR.  Fill your mind with GODLY concepts because you will never be led astray by them………never!

Today, take notice of what you are watching and hearing.  Be careful because the enemy wants to grab hold of your precious thoughts.  Don’t let him!  Instead, let the LORD’S strength fill you because HIS power is immeasurable and HE will and can fill your mind with all things good!

1 CORINTHIANS 10:  12   “SO, IF YOU THINK YOU ARE STANDING FIRM, BE CAREFUL THAT YOU DON’T FALL!”

HEY MY FRIENDS, WE ARE HEADING OUT ON A ROAD TRIP TO BEAUTIFUL COLORADO FOR 2 WEEKS.  SO I WILL MISS YOU BUT WILL BE BACK RIGHT TO IT AS SOON AS I RETURN.  IN THE MEANTIME, MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU AND GIVE YOU HIS PEACE……..ESPECIALLY PEACE OF MIND!

  1. “Filling our minds only with truth will allow us to speak the truth. It’s the only way to live with purpose and meaning all the while growing closer to our SAVIOR” LOVE this! Love the whole post (as usual 😊).

God gives us so many wonderful passages about focusing on Him: Set your mind on things above … We have the mind of Christ. With that mind, we can use God’s wisdom to discern what enters our minds and how to process it.

    Enjoy your trip; Godspeed !

      1. Hey I didn’t know you lived there. My husband and I both were born there but moved to CO and lived there 35 years. Longer than the time spent in Chicago, so I guess home really is CO

      2. Yes 😅 unfortunately born and raised here in Chicago… It has its good sides, but lately… not so much. And honestly, I could really do without the cold 🥶. I usually slip into a bit of a depression around this time, not so much in the fall 🍂, but with what comes after ❄️. Plus, November just adds another year to my life 🎂, which *sounds* good, but as we get older… well, not so much 😂👴.
I’m really glad to see you back, and I hope you and your husband had a wonderful vacation 🌞✈️💛
God Continue to Bless you both, today and always…

      3. Thanks Willie. Yes the winters in Chicago can be tough. I am so thankful we live now in AZ where the sun shines 325 days a year. And when it is gloomy you welcome that! Go figure! YOU are loved MUCH!
