YOU are not your own…….you were bought with a price and that was JESUS. HE hung on the Cross for you and me, chose the nails for you and me too.
1 CORINTHIANS 6: 19-20 “DON’T YOU REALIZE THAT YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHO LIVES IN YOU AND WAS GIVEN TO YOU BY GOD? YOU DO NOT BELONG TO YOURSELF, FOR GOD BOUGHT YOU WITH A HIGH PRICE.”
Bought with a price……..bought with a high price, GOD’S only SON. You do not own……..you. GOD does. Our walks in this Christian life are not about us……..they are about GOD! So glorify HIM with words, praise and worship in your very body.
JESUS OWNS US AND WE ARE HIS, THE BODY OF CHRIST.
HE didn’t have to choose us, but HE did. HE didn’t have to hang on a Cross gasping for breath, but HE did. HIS sacrifice was a big price to pay for mankind, but HE was the perfect lamb, the perfect answer to mankind’s fallen nature. HE chose us and still does and in that HE owns us and all we say and do. We are HIS……..eternally too.
1 PETER 2: 9 “BUT YOU ARE A CHOSEN RACE, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR HIS OWN POSSESSION…….”
We are HIS own possession…….chosen ones, loved ones and cherished ones. We are not our own, we are HIS. HE chose us, sought after us, pursued us and opened our eyes to our sin. But what an owner HE is! HE remakes, HE restores and HE redeems. We cannot do any of it ourselves, but JESUS can! And the best part is that HE gives us a new heart and mind, a new way of thinking and breathing……..a vertical way of thinking rather than horizontal. HE owns us with such gentleness and mercy. No one else on this planet can do this for us. And why? Because HIS burden is light…….
MATTHEW 11: 30 “FOR MY YOKE IS EASY TO BEAR, AND THE BURDEN I GIVE YOU IS LIGHT.”
Who can say this to us and who can we trust? Only the ONE who sacrificed HIS life for us! And only the ONE whose name is IMMANUEL, GOD with us.
If you are feeling alone today…….know that you are not! JESUS owns you, loves you and gives you the power and strength to take the next step. HE moved into your heart and YOU are part of a HOLY family, a HOLY Church and the amazing Body of CHRIST. No, you are not just owned, you are extremely and amazingly loved!
ROMANS 5: 8 “BUT GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS OWN LOVE FOR US IN THIS: WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.”

He owns me. What a beautiful, amazing, fearful, wonderful thing!
In a ladies book study, we went through the book, Slave. It points out that, when most translations use the word, “servant” of Christ, the literal translation is “slave.” We are bought and owned by God Himself, and I am His slave forever. I look forward to Heaven, when I will finally know how to serve Him perfectly, and be His true and faithful slave. I am grateful that He guides me here on Earth and woos my faith to become stronger and stronger.

Oh wow. I think I might have to look into that book you mentioned. Slave I guess has a few different meanings, but I know I won’t be a slave to anyone except CHRIST! Blessings today!

We are not our own; we belong to Jesus, bought with the precious price of His life. He chose us, loved us, and gave Himself for us. We are cherished, chosen, and eternally His. Amen 🙏🤗
