Oh death where is your sting?  Whenever a day is over as much as I am thankful at the beginning of the day, I am sad when viewing a sunset thinking that some people have died that day too.  We as a society don’t think of death often enough.  We think we will live forever and we push death away.  But one thing is certain, we all will die someday.

PSALM 23: 4  “EVEN THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH……..”

Our day is written in the LORD’S book.  And maybe it is better that we don’t know, because then how could we live?  Or would we live even better with more intention and thought?

HOSEA 13: 14  “I WILL DELIVER THIS PEOPLE FROM THE POWER OF THE GRAVE; I WILL REDEEM THEM FROM DEATH.”

Something I recently read written by JOHN PIPER says that facing death actually adds to our lives rather than takes from them.  Wow!  I never thought of it that way, but now on the path I am on, I actually see that.  Could it be that we don’t truly live as GOD intended for us, until we fully embrace our death?  So death doesn’t ruin our lives, it informs our lives, it transforms us with a hope and a love like we have never known. 

LET’S LIVE KNOWING WE WILL ONE DAY RUN INTO THE ARMS OF CHRIST!

Yes, JESUS is our true hope……our true north.  Let’s have confidence in HIM and all of HIS promises for us!  Let’s live life for HIM…….because one day we will be securely in HIS arms for all of eternity!  Have you thought about your death recently?  Keep that courageous confidence in our LORD, our REDEEMER, the ONE who overcame death HIMSELF, and for us!  HE is the ONE who patiently and lovingly waits for us…….
